I've sat on this one for a while but might as well be published now, the whole world seems to know.

Whenever he ends up, good luck to him and the club should be eternally grateful for the hardwork he put in.

Don’t know what’s happened with this one. He’s done everything asked of him in his time at the club the progress has been exceptional at academy level.

Maybe his specialism is on building up/troubleshooting academies and the day to day isnt his specialism?

We wont know, but he certainly was very good to deal with when in Prague, even if he didnt watch Soucek as closely as i'd have liked when he took the kids to a Slavia game :D

The club have finally confirmed Jon Pepper's departure. Was there a public thanks from the club for someone who came in and lifted the academy from Cat 3 to Cat 1? No, they've just removed him from the staff list on the official site.

It's all very odd. Was there a fall out? There must be a reason why he was quietly removed, with no explanation.

Fingers crossed the work he has done is built upon to create something special. The club seem to be aiming for a proper youth system that generates players/income. When you look at what Liverpool & Chelsea generate from selling homegrown youngsters it has to be worth investing in.

I've no idea what's happened and it is very odd. He's played a major part in getting us where we are at academy level.

Even if his departure was acrimonious, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things. Particularly if you’re wanting to develop a brand - every little thing can make a difference.

I don’t know much about the academy, other than reading and hearing just how bad it had got under Howe and following his departure.

To now be in the top category, in a relatively short period of time, should be celebrated and those responsible praised for their efforts.

Some of Dyche’s minimum expectations would go a long way with the club - respect being a big one.

Seeing as it's been known for a long time, is there any word on who will be taking over. It's a very important role for a club the size of Burnley , so you would hope the new man would have the experience to move us on to higher things.
Could this be a disagreement about the effectiveness of AIScout?

I’ve assumed, rightly or wrongly, that Paul Jenkins will have a role. He’s been working as a consultant for ALK.

Does he have any credentials, if you've already spoken about him I must have missed it.

Very much so. Involved at Middlesbrough for a good number of years and ended their 2016/17 Premier League season as first team coach after Karanka had gone.

Now you've restated it, I had read it before.

I put it down to old age.
Cheers Tony

Perhaps they wanted their own man in at the academy.
I suppose it's just possible that they are not happy at the players coming through at present.

Not sure how the perceived lack of players could be at Pepper's door. He's been here less than five years and lifted us to Cat 1 which is a remarkable achievement. Why he's gone isn't the point though, it's the disrespectful way he's been let go by us with absolutely no comment, just the removal of his name from the staff list.

Yes, I do get that.
i think the majority of us would say he's done remarkably well.

I agree he should get a proper send off....unless there is something we don't know.

This is the key point. One can speculate but without the full picture one can’t blame the club for the manner in which he has left.

My understanding of it is that Pepper had come in and done what needed doing, he felt so it was time to the next big project. If we tried to keep him but failed I took it was why it ended so quietly. Most fans will not know and a fanfare can be made about the incoming as a pure positive.

I think your understanding is wrong. I don’t think for one second it was his decision to leave.

Absolutely typical of Garlicks shambolic reign. Now we've got Mr Pace in charge I expect the way we handle things like this to be much more professional.

Don’t doubt it for a second CT just offering the way I read it.

I believe this part , think he was brought in to guarantee the club would move through the category standings with ease , but he wouldn't offer much beyond that.
