Scotland v Czech Republic ....
Which of the following statements most closely represents your view ?
1) I'm Scottish or have Scottish roots, I'm 100% behind our gallant lads !!
2) They're a British team, I'll always want them to do well, except against England ( or my other UK side ) !!
3) Winds me up how anti-English the Scots are, but I'm bigger than that, good luck to them !!
4) Utterly indifferent, be good to see Vydra get some game time !!
5) F*** 'em !! Love to see them crying into their Tennants, and I hope they get spanked !!

Scotland win as I reckon it'll make Fridays game more interesting if they have the chance to go above us.

First half of 1, all of 2.
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
partly 1 (I have Scottish blood), but mostly 2 for me - however I'd also like to see Vydra do well

Referee is Daniel Siebert from Berlin - he refereed our Europa League qualifier against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

2,3,4 today, and 5.
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
1st half of 1 and all of 5
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
Vyds only on the bench so at the moment I’m supporting the Scots.
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
Absolutely #5
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
Dreadful game so far
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
When you see Scotland's lack of depth I've never understood why Scott Arfield doesn't at least make the squad from time to time. Surely he's better than some of the fringe players.

Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
After being in a bar in Aberdeen for a Scotland v England qualifier which started off as friendly banter. Scholes scored and it turned to pure hatred for us and the English. We left early to save our skins. Absolute tossers!
So it’s #5 for me.

Nor can I, apart from the fact that he's got 19 caps for Canada, having switched his allegiance in 2016 !

Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
If England can forget the hype - "the noise", as Dyche would put it - they'll destroy both these teams.

Tony Cascarino didn’t even have to drink Guinness.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 2:30 pmBack in the day, just drinking a pint of Guinness meant you qualified for the Republic.
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
I didn’t know Scotland had a football team until 2pm. It’s quite cute.

Cascarino won 88 Caps over 14 years on the basis of his Irish Grandfather on his mother's side. Eight years after his first cap, his mother confided in him that she'd been adopted as a girl ....

5 for me. 1-0 Czechs!
The Czechs must have some good players if a regular for a premier league side can only make the bench.

Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
Should have probably had a penalty there, defender stepped across and blocked him. The bar set by VAR at this tournament is very high. I think it would have to be a truly catastrophic error before they will even check something.
Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
for those watching this for Hendry... he looked well out of position for their goal

Penalty all day long that - he made a movement towards the opponent and failed to play the ball - but it's one of those penalties that are hardly ever given.

Always impressed at these tournaments by the various international guest TV analysts command and clarity of the English language; the French, The Dutch, The Belgians and the Danes etc all perfectly spoken.
This has been the only match so far where subtitles have been necessary.

Re: Scotland v Czech Republic ....
Anywhere else on the pitch it is a free kick and a yellow card all day long, but for some reason the laws of the game are different in the box. If it is a foul it is a pen.duncandisorderly wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 2:53 pmPenalty all day long that - he made a movement towards the opponent and failed to play the ball - but it's one of those penalties that are hardly ever given.
