I’ve followed Burnley for over 35 years and didn’t know these answers. Makes you wonder why it’s not more widely publicised or talked about.

Since when did they strip Tarks of the captaincy? Is it because he's refused to sign a new contract? Would have made it into double figures but for that

Yes I did wonder about that question myself, I knew it wasn't Jimmy Mac as it stated Englishman.
Just checked myself and it appears the question is correct, to give a hint for those struggling think inter-war period.

Miller & Dobson are high on the post war list but the top three in that group are Angus & McIlroy with 439 & Stevenson with 438.

Yes I went blank on the Gazza one also, no idea why, how can you forget Gazza.

I got the appearance one after a few minutes thought, again it's a long time ago, so unless you're a true Clarets scholar you may not remember this chap.

The " Cliviger Blacksmith " himself, pronounced himself unfit for the 1914 Cup Final, missing the biggest game of his career, as to not " let the side down " ...
A couple of years ago, I did an exercise starting with the current team and found a player who'd played with an older team-mate, and so on back to our 1st League line-up in 1888, I think it only took 14 players ... this man was a great help, being on Burnley's books for 21 years !!

Just found the " old " post, how many remember that Phil Bardsley played with Graham Branch during his 2005-06 loan spell, obviously " diBranchio " played with Steve Davis MkII, who in turn played with Joe Jakub who appeared with Jim Thomson, who played his 1st League game for Burnley in 1968 .... just five players spanning 53 years !

That sounds interesting. Could you post the answers on here?
Edit: I've found it using your name and the leading appearance man. It was posted on 26th April 2020 if some don't know the all time leading appearance player.

Phil Bardsley
Graham Branch
Steve Davis MkII
Joe Jakub
Jim Thomson
Andy Lochead
Tommy Cummings
Arthur Woodruff
Edward Hancock
George Waterfield

So Phil Bardsley, a current squad member played ( during his 2005-06 loan spell ) League football with " Di Branchio ", who turned out with Steve Davis and so on ... back to Burnley's 1st League game in 1888 ... 14 players in total
