The away bench should be an old plank of wood with nails in it.

Are we finally giving our team the car seats and dispensing with the IKEA dentist waiting room ones?

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
I take it we are not kicking people out of seats in the Bob Lord to have several rows of seats in the dug out like you see across the Premier League - int will be interesting to see the restrictive protocols in place next season for those who would use the dugout how it affects allowable attendance levels

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
My wife and I were discussing a seating area with a overhang for shade just yesterday morning. We wanted a low overhang over a long garden sofa. A pergola was too high for our ideas. We wanted something about 4-5 foot high that covered the seats.
Might need to redesign one half of the garden mind if we got it.

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
You could probably build a 2 tier dugout in front of the Bob Lord without taking any seats out given the front of it is so high.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 2:48 pmI take it we are not kicking people out of seats in the Bob Lord to have several rows of seats in the dug out like you see across the Premier League - int will be interesting to see the restrictive protocols in place next season for those who would use the dugout how it affects allowable attendance levels

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
I doubt it is in the plan but I would love to see the dugouts moved accross to the Longside given the location of the dressing rooms and the tunnel in the CF/LS corner. I never understood why they were never put there when the "new" Longside was built. The long trek across the pitch especially at half time looks so untidy

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
Would have to remove a hell of a lot of seats to do that given that people in the Longside Lower are almost below pitch level at the front.Petersa wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 3:26 pmI doubt it is in the plan but I would love to see the dugouts moved accross to the Longside given the location of the dressing rooms and the tunnel in the CF/LS corner. Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
You are probably right CT but Ive never liked the great trek especially at half time. With what seems like dozens of subs, coaches and physios in todays game it looks a right mess. Memories of George Bray emptying his magic sponge bucket of water a few minutes from the end in the old Brunshaw Rd stand with just Harry Potts for company are flooding back

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
When I first started going it was Ray Bennion and George was the reserve trainer with the magic sponge. I knew George so well and am just sorry he isn't around to see us today because he used to promise me we'd get back to the top division.Petersa wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 3:37 pmYou are probably right CT but Ive never liked the great trek especially at half time. Where, when, how are these being auctioned?
Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
Leeds are removing their dugouts and supplying 9 buckets for the home and away teams... so the Subs can be more Bielsa

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
Those Floodlights are way higher and far more bright than they have ever been, and that is within the last 10 years. I would not be surprised if a number of houses behind the Turf find the light coming straight into their homes, particularly bedroom windows, there are quite a few folk who live on there that have been there since it was built and both the Turf and floodlights were very much different then

Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
I’d be surprised if they did. The floodlights are directional, I suspect little if any light is cast outside the ground by them.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 11:12 pmThose Floodlights are way higher and far more bright than they have ever been, and that is within the last 10 years. Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
From what I’m told the current lights which were installed in 2016 are so directional that they cause no issues outside of the ground.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 11:12 pmThose Floodlights are way higher and far more bright than they have ever been, and that is within the last 10 years. If I had one £ for every time they panned to a shot of Bielsa on his bucket 🪣 or spoke about the bucket 🪣 I’d have Dyche’s new contract.

They got a new neighbour who started complaining that the kids were too noisy during playtime and it was ruining them being able to enjoy being in the garden
When they were asked why they bought a house near a school, their reply was “we came to view it on a Saturday and it was so peaceful”

What happened with the plan to have the changing rooms placed in the new disabled facilities or was it a new building between cricketfield and James Hargreaves stand?
Is this on hold due to COVID or the plan for this stopped completely?

There was a plan to put the dressing rooms in the Longside/Jimmy Mac corner at one time but that was back in the plans Brendan Flood set up in 2007.claretburns wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 10:02 amWhat happened with the plan to have the changing rooms placed in the new disabled facilities or was it a new building between cricketfield and James Hargreaves stand?

During consultations there were objections to the plans. A spokesman for Burnley Civic Trust, said: “We believe that the proposed increased height would be visually unacceptable and it would have an adverse effect on those who live around the ground.”

Not exactly primo seats though at the front of the Longside, and could be an excellent selling point for the new corporate areas behind the dugouts.... Would also free up more space for the Bob Lord corporate areasClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 3:27 pmWould have to remove a hell of a lot of seats to do that given that people in the Longside Lower are almost below pitch level at the front.
Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
I wonder if there are plans afoot to repaint the faded JM stand and Longside. Dark grey to match the disabled stands would look smart.
Re: New Dugouts for The Turf
I think they already have.
When I first saw it being painted, I glanced down through the gate at the back of JM and that appeared to be black/dark grey too.
