That was good but I think the immediate aftermath of the previous game..away at Reading...was an even bigger "high" of euphoria. Probably because it was floodlit , we were packed into one corner of the ground and had had two screamers scored directly in front of us.

Wembley v Wolves… just getting there was beyond our belief
The play off final… walking on air for weeks
But the winner has to be

Burnley 2-1 Orient. A feeling I never want to go through again… I was a nervous wreck that day and had to threw up at the final whistle before I could celebrate (and no I had not been drinking).

Might sound a bit daft with the recent achievements, but the first one that springs to mind is away at North End in the Sherpa Van.

Buzzing as a teenager that I was going to Wembley and to watch Burnley not England or England schoolboys

Having grown up in the 80s and 90s seeing Burnley in the Premier League was a "bonus" for me.

But the 2-1 win at Ewood in 2014 put right an inbalance I'd felt keenly all those years. And particularly undid the hurt of the 5-0 of 2001.

They'd lined the streets after thr 5-0 but were thin on the ground after defeat.

England v Greece at Old Trafford where Beckham single handed took us to the World Cup in injury time.

Apart from that they’re all Burnley games and some random such as home v Forest

Ireland v Romania last 16 game of the World Cup in 1990 , never has anything ever come as close to the moment David put the 5th pen in the back of the net .

I can't really think it will be ever bettered for me as stood behind the goal , that moment " the nation holds it's breath " ................

Orient game, I cannot think of anything that will ever compare to the mixture of relief and elation.

Same game for me, I was there, we floated the 240 miles back home that night. Beating that lot at a packed TM under the lights, Blakes volley, Beast saves a penalty, Oh What a Night!!!

I'm at work right now, so I'll just post the one for the moment, LC win over Bolton when Coyle returned, and that was one night were we really did take the LC seriously, I only heard the radio commentary, but even from that you could sense the hostile atmosphere in the stadium, and the players were clearly determined to prove a point to our former gaffer that evening which they duly achieved.

The 2 biggest I can recall atm, are the play off final, watched at home on Sky as I couldn't get a ticket, and the 4v1 win away to Spurs in the league Cup. I listened to that on the radio in Darlo at the time. I was in euphoric shock.

Either that or the 2-0 over Wigan to get promoted......that Ashley Barnes goal had me jumping around and yelling like a Banshee.

Orient match, followed by Spurs 1 Burnley 4 in 1983

There is the obvious ones which we all share, but I think as a kid at Oxford when we came back to win with two late goals from Davis and Weller was a feeling where anything was possible. Wright chasing that lost ball when most had given up for it to just seemingly stop on the rain soaked pitch, it was like the man upstairs had stepped in himself to help us out

Just before going back up to my seat after half time, I saw one our " likely lads " being escorted out of the Bob Lord, a Steward in front of him, two coppers holding his arms behind his back ! Bringing up the rear, another policeman holding a box of a dozen Eggs in front on him, like one of those ladies carrying Olympic medals on a cushion ...

Never knew CT sat in the Bob Lord...

Will have to think about this one. A really pleasing one was Preston away when Barton scored. Brilliant game, following, atmosphere, day etc.

Also the Arthur gnohere game there too.

We were always neck and neck with Preston but they just seemed to be a bit better. So to get so many key wins over them is nice. Always found them games tastier than Blackburn.

But it’s very tough to pick a favourite. We’ve been spoilt in recent times.

Aberdeen was a good one even though was a draw.

The win at Old Trafford in January 2020 was one of the best

Being Brought up in Rossendale as a young claret in the 60s and 70s our rivals were always United and to win down at OT meant the world to me

Good pick lad. Chelsea away was a fantastic night has was Preston away when we won promotion in 2016.

It isn't always about the football but more the occasion and both were memorable for the company I kept on both those nights

12th September 1970. Burnley 1 Arsenal 2. My first Burnley match, leaving the ground I knew I was a claret for life.

Chelsea away league cup

Stockport wembley

Sheffield Utd wembley

To name just a few.

Both promotion games at Wembley, Man U at home, Spurs in league cup but the win at home against Plymouth to stay up in the Waddle fiasco & the win away at Plymouth in the play offs when we had been wrote of are right up there.

Plenty to choose from, but of recent times I'd have to go with PNE away when Joey scored the winner. I don't really do away days any more, but that week I'd been told I had to go on a conference to the US which meant I missed the QPR home game, so I was devastated to be missing that.

Coming out of Deepdale with that amazing atmosphere ringing in my ears, pretty much knowing we'd wrapped up promotion, was a great feeling.
I was so happy.

Not sure if mentioned yet, but after Hull (A) In our 1st PL season felt pretty special

Impossible to argue with any already mentioned. A win is a.win and that warm.feeling it offers is unmistakable. A great way to win a game.is with a last minute winner, we've never really seemed to score that many so I'll plump.for those wins a few years back v Everton and Crystal Palace courtesy of Scott Arfield and Ashley Barnes.

4-3 PNE home game where CI bagged his hat-trick, and we scored 3 in the last 10 minutes after their lad got his marching orders, only viewed it on the telly, but after that game I actually thought we might do something special that season under Laws, how wrong was I in hindsight.

I choose the play-off final v Stockport. Pure emotional high almost all day (except for a while after they scored). The 2009 play-off final was great but I was just stunned through most of the game as I had never truly thought we would ever get back to the top division in about 30 years.

Plymouth away in the playoffs was a pretty good night.

That was particularly satisfying given that Plymouth were favourites after their kicking display at the Turf, also some racial abuse aimed at John Francis by a section of the crowd.

JF answered that by scoring two rather satisfying goals in the 3-1 win.

A match I really enjoyed was Burnley 2-0 Liverpool...2 great goals Vokes & Gray,and Steven Defour starring.....watching Liverpool huff & puff to break down our defence that day was great to watch,and if I remember rightly I few weeks later we sent Everton back to Merseyside with exactly the same....nowt,oh to find another couple of fit Steven Defour's

Having mentioned the 5-0 at Ewood on the other thread, the 3-0 win against PNE five days later was particularly sweet and very unexpected.

Still York away for me. Having watched us slide down the leagues and witnessed some truly horrific performances against a whole plethora of lowly clubs. That feeling at Bootham Crescent is still yet to be beaten.
