Hudson-Odoi to switch allegiances to Ghana
https://www.sportbible.com/football/new ... ssion=true
FIFA have changed their rules to allow players to switch countries if they've played below a certain number of internationals and not in certain competitions
Hudson-Odoi has decided he's off to represent Ghana instead from later this year.
I can't help but think if he'd made the move to Bayern at the time, then his career would be similar to Sancho's, just with more trophies.

shame think he is a good player with good potential. Could be another Zaha that England miss out on.
Needs to get his career back on track though.

Needs a good loan move, a club that needs a right winger with pace

And some football pages on social media are saying it’s because of the racism in the last week. Absolute definition of the **** stirring that goes on on social media. Joke.

It could very well be a reason for his decision though. I can't imagine that the racism directed at our players would endear anyone to England when they have other options.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 7:46 pmAnd some football pages on social media are saying it’s because of the racism in the last week. He plays for Chelsea....what_no_pies wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 8:00 pmIt could very well be a reason for his decision though. I can't imagine that the racism directed at our players would endear anyone to England when they have other options.
The same club who've had to ban a fan for racially abusing Sterling the other year...
If racism was a deciding factor for his career choice then he would be playing in Germany for Bayern.
Re: Hudson-Odoi to switch allegiances to Ghana
Money dictates what people do and where footballers work. I'm pretty sure Andre Bikey said he had to carry a gun in Russia due to the racist abuse, it doesn't stop all black footballers from moving there to work.what_no_pies wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 8:00 pmI can't imagine that the racism directed at our players would endear anyone to England when they have other options.
Re: Hudson-Odoi to switch allegiances to Ghana
Easy decision. He's not getting anywhere near the England squad with Southgate in charge. No matter who we play, 7 of the players are going to be defensive, plus Kane, plus the keeper so he's looking for one of the two remaining slots with about 12 others.

Zaha would absolutely have made a difference for England at times. Perhaps would be behind the talent we have now. But would always be a useful asset to have in the squad.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 12:39 pmI actually wrote a reply on the Zaha comment and deleted ityou nearly had me

I suppose he would be unlikely to get racially abused by Ghana people.

In 2019 as a replacement call up for injured players. He won’t get another call up unless there are a spate of injuries.

He wouldn't get a call up whilst he's sat on the subs bench at Chelsea the actual reason.Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 7:45 amIn 2019 as a replacement call up for injured players. He won’t get another call up unless there are a spate of injuries.
I think he made a mistake in staying at Chelsea, he was promised a lot but as usual a new manager came in and didn't like what he was seeing with Hudson-Odoi.
There's a very good player in there from what we've all seen in flashes, but that injury hampered his progress, followed by the Chelsea bench
Re: Hudson-Odoi to switch allegiances to Ghana
What has he done so far to get everyone raving about him? Jury's still out for me

In the same way that any English professional footballer could come close, if there are a significant number of injuries.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 8:15 amSo he’s been close and could come close again yeah?
I’m not really sure what your point is, do you think he’s even close to being in contention? He’s not even playing regular top level football, with a manger that, given his quote after the Southampton match, seems distinctly underwhelmed.
List him alongside Francis Jeffers.

That Fifa rule change opens the door for Tarks to play for Poland, doesn't it?

What is your point? He's 20 year old with potential and previous England caps, the reason he's not in the England squad is because of lack of game time at Chelsea, that could change.Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 11:30 am

Good enough to play for England but not Chelsea, kind of sums things up if you think about why are some of players aren’t progressing to the full potential.

He's made appearances for Chelsea and appearances for England, not first choice at either.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 2:03 pmGood enough to play for England but not Chelsea, kind of sums things up if you think about why are some of players aren’t progressing to the full potential.

My point is that he is a long way from England squad and no indication that he ever will be. The reason he’s not in the squad is that are better players. At the moment He barely qualifies as a one season wonder

Re: Hudson-Odoi to switch allegiances to Ghana
Tuchel has him sussed thats why hes no longer a regular for Chelsea pace for fun but no crossing ability,no dribbling skills and too greedy another media over hyped player file under Tammy Abraham
Great as a 16 yr old in Chelsea's youth team but too lazy to learn new skills that would have him develop into a good player

Tammy Abraham absolutely walks into our team and most sides in the PL, 3,225 minutes played in the last 2 seasons in the PL, equates to around 35 league games. 21 goals and 6 assists.
Re: Hudson-Odoi to switch allegiances to Ghana
Imagine actually saying Hudson Odoi has no dribbling skills, it's literally the strongest part of his game
