Nadhim Zahawi speaking in the Commons now. Missed his saying it but the BBC have picked up that from the end of September the Government plans to make full vaccination a condition of entry to venues which have crowds.

Will be interesting to hear just how this will work in practice.

Everyone who's been jabbed gets a card with the stickers attached.
Failing that, log into the NHS app as the jab information is stored on there.

the NHS APP (not to be confused with the NHS COVID APPP) is used for proof of vaccination.

Indeed, from my experiences at gigs where you've had to show ID with you ticket its been chaos and easily navigated.

More detail:
And answering the question about where the Covid pass will be compulsory, Zahawi says the passes - which prove someone has been double vaccinated - will be required in nightclubs and other crowded indoor venues like music venues, "or large unstructured outdoor events such as business events and festivals, or very large structured events such as business events, music and spectator sport events".
So the real question is whether they will consider Turf Moor a "very large" spectator sport event? Or whether they mean events like the Euro's?
Personally, I think by September there will be so much data suggesting that the vaccinated are catching and transmitting covid, and potentially vaccine-defeating variants, that they'll have to row back and revert to testing.

If we have to jab the turnstile operator twice for entry then so be it.

Laughable.
As if nightclubs are going to turn people away. Business events? Yeah right. Football? Yeah right. They don’t even check if a ticket is adult/childs never mind doing all that and then checking if someone has been vaccinated.

The COVID Pass (On the NHS App) is like the QR code you get for each jab. You can also download and save it.
The pain with the NHS app is remembering and entering your password - and the use of the 6 digit passcode thats texted to you if you don't check the right box.
The pass has an expiry date of a month.

The entire idea is immoral and unethical in my opinion. Regardless of your stance on the vaccine, this idea presents a very slippery slope. If it was about protecting people they would incorporate a negative test, the lack there of convinces me it's more of a power grab. I'm sure I read 60% of covid hospitalations are double jabbed which means the idea of a vaccinated person is automatically safe to mingle is laughable.

That was a press conference mistake that was later corrected, the figures are 60% of hospitalisations not vaccinated.

Nope 60% are unvaccinated and out of the other 40% its not been confirmed how many are single and how many are double jabbed

Just go onto the site every month and make/print a pdf copy, best way - like when you go to airport.

Yep, that incorrect statistic was only announced at an official press conference to the nation with a full explanation given as to why it was the case. It was then corrected afterwards on twitter. No biggie.
And people wonder why we don't fancy giving this shower more control.

Report on BBC yesterday that Premier League is discussing bringing "passports" into use from the first game in the season. Idea being to be able to maximise capacity.
PS: I though covid-19 was a topic we aren't supposed to discuss on this mb.
Stay safe, everyone.

The idea is to increase vaccine uptake in the 18/30 age group. The govt get a lot of wrong, like the current state of Pingland, however they are bang on the money with this one.

You say that. But I'm pretty sure I read that they can bring it in under CoronaVirus Act, which means no vote in Parliament will be necessary. It all stinks.

Fingerprint for access makes it easier
The expiry date renews each time you log in, its only really an issue if you print a paper copy off.
The letter from the NHS does not expire, took about 4 days for ours to arrive

I have to laugh, though. People banging on about how having to show proof of vaccination status, test results, or natural immunity, to get into a crowded event, is somehow an infringement of civil liberties. Makes it sound like we are living in China or Cuba.

No need. You can ring 119 and simply request a paper copy that comes through the post, and as of now it lasts forever. (Though nothing really lasts forever of course)

Good for arguing about, but in the real world it'll be the most basic box-ticking exercise which will be ignored or easily bypassed. By the time they got something like this running well enough to actually work, everyone in the UK will have had Covid anyway.
Thousands of people got into Wembley a fortnight ago without tickets, let alone a Covid test or vaccine certificate. Get furious by all means, but this won't stop anyone going on the Turf regardless of vaccine status.

I guess it depends on the individual.
If I hadn't had the jabs, but it was required for entry, I wouldn't even attempt to gain entry. Some people just don't think rules apply to them.

9 out of 10 people in the UK currently have antibodies thanks to either vaccines, having the virus or being naturally immune.

Good as long as it is enforced. It’s no big deal to provide proof. As the minister says ‘ 2 jabs reduce the risk of hospitalisation by about 96%’.

Absolute madness the amount of people going along with this. So you need a jab to get into crowded places, does that include colleges, universities, schools etc? Someone's education determined by whether they have the jab is a sick joke.

Why would they, because their parent or guardian "didn't like the vaccine"?
I'd suggest both generations would be best advised to get all the education they can in such a circumstance
