Unsafe site

Post by CleggHall » Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:30 am

For the last 12 hours I have been getting a message via Safari that uptheclarets is an unsafe site. A gremlin is mimicking the site and accessing my financial details. Anyone else troubled by this?

Yes, been getting it since 7am this morning this side of the world. It’s now 7pm. It’s stopped now, I think.

We've just discovered the issue started just after 8 last night so you were correct with your assumption

We know what's caused the problems but now it's trying to resolve it.

A new security certificate is issued automatically every three months and a new one was issued last night at just after 8 p.m. BST. For whatever reason, it is not working, hence the problem. DiBraidio is contacting the host to try and get the matter resolved as soon as possible.

Everything sorted thanks.

We've also resolved the security issue so if you link from site to message board you now get the secure (https) version.

It’s definitely worked it’s the first time on my phone it’s allowed me to gain access, on the tablet it was working fine, but last night both methods for a couples of hours didn’t work.

I'm surprised it worked at all for anyone but strangely it did. Thankfully all looks good now and we've even solved the mystery of the non secure message board when linked to from the main site.

We had similar issues with a few client sites this week. Irritating issue.

It’s been using https for some time but there was an issue when linking through to the message board from the main site which then left posters on http. That was resolved separately yesterday. But the main problem yesterday affected the https & not the http.

I visited yesterday and received the message (familiar in Firefox when you visit older websites) because I didn't realise I still had my bookmark as http.
Switched it to https and no longer got the message.
Perhaps I visited after the problem was fixed, not sure.
