Isn't it somewhat unusual to play a pre-season friendly against a team from the same division?

We are playing Newcastle too. It’s unusual but I suppose we are in abnormal times.

Normally Utd would no doubt have flown off to the US, however I don't think any teams are organising overseas trips this pre-season, probably very wise in my view.
Burnley are playing Newcastle during our pre-season prep, so it's not completely unheard of.
