Forest friendly in doubt - now cancelled

Post by ClaretTony » Wed Jul 28, 2021 11:26 am

Forest's friendly against Villa today has been called off because of infections in the Forest first team squad. They are now isolating.

Forest have said: "Any further information concerning the friendly fixture with Burnley on Saturday at The City Ground will be confirmed in due course."

Looks like it could be a good job no away fans allowed then

In theory this should go ahead. I believe Blackpool had 7 players isolating for the game last night

I presume a partial refund on the £10 for 2 games deal if this happens.

Seeing we’ve managed to turn out two teams simultaneously, last week, how about a Clarets v Blues ont’Turf with free admittance.

'Forest friendly'

"Look Gretel, a sign..."

Forest nut in the depature lounge of the International airport sitting waiting and over the other side he hears someone say "Abu Dhabi."

He was a bit drunk and started laughing and shouted "Less Sh*t stir."

There was a commotion and people got upset and he was a bit surprised and he said "Oh I thought it was a fellow Forest fan saying a boo Derby... And I thought you'd think the same about City."

Edit to my previous post that I can no longer edit:
The fixtures now say "Burnley has no match scheduled for the next 7 days" rather than mentioning the Forest game as it did on Tuesday

Why can't we play against the remaining members of their squad who test negative. Its only a friendly, the result is not important, so even if they combine first team and youth players, would it matter

With all due respect I think the women would struggle against the U23s. Wre'd be better off switching the first team to play Tranmere on Saturday who are scheduled to play the U23s.

With all due respect the women's team would struggle against the u13s. I don't think they're fully professional yet?

The all conquering American women's team got beat off an u15 side 8-0.

I just googled that, I can find a 5-2 defeat to Dallas FC U15s but not an 8-0.
Obviously Burnley women's team are in the third tier of the women's game so they will be some way behind the most successful international team in the women's game.

The US loss -

And this could be the other one you are thinking of when the Australian women's national team lost 7-0 to a boys team  -

I mean’t it as a sarky comment. I watched them against Manchester United in their version of the FA Cup. Seriously, it was like watching a Sunday League outfit but with all the professional equipment.

"What about Tranmere Rovers? That might be a good idea. We're playing their under -23 team that Saturday we could have a first team match instead."

"Yes, let's."

:-)

Just a thought... (Nostrodamus)
