Strongest team available maybe Cork for Brownhill arguably.

Wouldn't have expected Vyds to play as he is behind the rest in his pre season.

If that’s the starting eleven vs Brighton we are in a seriously bad spot.
Do we have any indication of when Wood, Pope will be back in contention?

Pretty much nailed on team v Brighton *gulp*.
Re: Team v Tranmere
It probably won't be but if it was I wouldn't be so concerned in the context of that particularly game.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 12:22 pmIf that’s the starting eleven vs Brighton we are in a seriously bad spot.

Re: Team v Tranmere
The Olympics will determine when we might have Wood back. Last I heard I think Pope does have a chance of being fit for the start of the season.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 12:22 pmIf that’s the starting eleven vs Brighton we are in a seriously bad spot.

I honestly don’t see us scoring without Wood in the team. I guess the only good thing is Wood has been playing competitive football so should be sharp when he is back.

Woody isn't going to need a pre-season when he gets back, should be ready to go very quickly.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 12:29 pmPope would be a big boost.

Let's hope Barnes can perform today. Needs his sharpness back if he's going to be in contention for Brighton.

Wood is coming home. Just lost on penalties.

New Zealand just gone out on penalties so Woody should be back shortly.

He’s a miss of course he is, but we do have three other strikers who have all shown that they can score at this level.

It’s not exactly an out there statement. The strikers you mentioned scored a combined 7 goals across the whole of last season.

Will Wood be straight back into pre season with us or will he have a rest now?

He’ll get a good 14-15 hours on the flight from Tokyo to Manchester. How much more does he need?

So we obviously can score without Wood.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 12:50 pmIt’s not exactly an out there statement. The strikers you mentioned scored a combined 7 goals across the whole of last season.
I know we naturally look back on the previous season at performances etc. but in this instance, with everything that went on, I think that less weight can be applied to 20/21.
We’re writing players off based on a season that followed a short break, covid, injuries and no fans.

Yes that’s your view of things and that’s fair enough.DCWat wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 12:55 pmSo we obviously can score without Wood.

I am looking at it from the point of view that this team is the oldest in the league and they struggled last season. With no improvement to the starting eleven and a year older, I think the team is now worse than last year. I think without our main goal threat we will struggle to lay a glove on Brighton (if that team today is the one we will play against Brighton)

Is that the ref from the Leeds game?
Re: Team v Tranmere
At the very least Wood will be on the bench as he's fully match fit.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 1:00 pmYes that’s your view of things and that’s fair enough.

Re: Team v Tranmere
It is and the only referee I've seen ruin a pre-season game. That was at Preston four years ago.
Re: Team v Tranmere
Dyche love child seems to be getting a run in team after injury.
Looks like a certain starter against Brighton.

You can only guess at JBG.
Re: Team v Tranmere
Whether or not we sign someone else before the season starts, I’d be surprised if, whoever that may be, they go straight into the starting line up. It’s not usually Dyche’s way.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 1:00 pmYes that’s your view of things and that’s fair enough.

Re: Team v Tranmere
Will you effing forget last season. It was horrendous for all clubs. Barnes and JRod never got match fit and just filled in when necessary.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 12:50 pmIt’s not exactly an out there statement. They have had a full pre-season and match minutes. We would miss Wood but not to the extent that you imply.
Please go and have a lie down in a dark room. Gloom and doom is all you know. I better your a thrill at parties.

This appeared on the club website: "Information regarding supporters who bought a match pass for a streaming of the game will follow."
Why don't they just make refunds?
