I have no idea who he is but he is apparently on his way to us.

Sounds quite exciting on the basis of literally nothing other than the fact we’re signing a young Brazilian winger!

Straight into the 23 squad no doubt

For a moment (sounded like) I thought it may have been the ageing one signed by Coyle from Reading, remember him

We’ve more chance of signing Arthur Fowler.

He should do, plays for top Brazilian club, has played in their champions League etc.

If true, let's hope he's actually given a chance.

He’s 23 so perhaps it’s a move for the 23 squad for a year and see him in training etc rather than being straight into first team.

Yes, true but you don’t see too many Jan Molby shaped footballers these days.

I would think that if he has 80 odd appearances for Santos then it will not be for the u23 squad.

Is he likely to get a work permit?
23 and not an international suggests not.

Even if this for the u23 squad, this would be the most unBurnleyest signing ever

This has got to be the most exciting transfer speculation since we signed Fernando Guererro.

We should be waxing lyrical about this lad, have we ever signed a Brazilian in our history? Can't recall one.
I like the sound of fast, but very good on his day makes me somewhat wary, how often is his day.

I can easily see this lad becoming a Dyche favourite.
Either that, or he’ll make Vydra look like an ever present.

After looking at the YouTube clips then I’d say he’d be the most fouled player in the Barclays Premier League.

Would need to be with a relative in the UK now, wouldn’t it?
I confess I don’t know the rules now Brexit has kicked in.

The same as all our players, then.
If he was very good every day, then he wouldn’t be coming to Burnley.

No different to if he was Brazilian Brazilian. EU is the same as non-EU now we're no longer part of it.

True! and we're crying out for a winger with pace, so just maybe this lad will fit the bill nicely.

From 90min.com:
“ A Government Body Extension (Work Permit) will be awarded on a points-based system on the following criteria for men’s players:
Senior and youth international appearances.
Quality of the selling club, based on the league they are in, league position and progression in continental competition.
Club appearances, based on domestic league and continental competition minutes.
Any player who meets the minimum points threshold will automatically be granted a GBE, which in turn will allow them to obtain the necessary work permit. Anyone who fails to gain enough points can still appeal for a GBE to the Exceptions Panel.”
It’s the hope that kills you...

Interestingly if you look into work permit changes due to Brexit there was a lot of noise in January that the new regulations would actually make it easier for english clubs to sign South Americans...
Good article on it
here.
I'm not particularly legally adept but if we go from his season at Santos he gets 8 points for playing at that level, 2 points for his minutes in Serie A, 2 points for Santos qualifying for the copa libatores and a whopping 10 points for them reaching the final meaning he'd be over the 15 needed to qualify...

Yes and I'd rather we take a small gamble on a youngster than waste valuable funds on Lennon, at least with a younger player if it doesn't work out you've much more chance of recouping your outlay, and he's hardly breaking the bank is he if the reported fee is anywhere near accurate.
