Well that sounds a recipe for a late KOs around the country on Saturday.

I doubt they will delay kick-off when the worldwide broadcast which pays £bns to show these games is also to be considered.

More realistically - I can envisage avoiding the message board for a period of time whilst all those people who failed to plan or understand the situation kick off about it being everyone else's fault that they had a bad experience.

The Premier League guidance seems to say there will be spot checks for double jabbedness/a negative test without ever actually saying you need to be either to go to the match. Bit odd.

“Excuse me Sir, would you mind taking part in the Covid spot check?”

“Yes I would. I do not wish to take part”

“Ok, no problem, enjoy the match”

And this attitude is why I can't go.
People are simply "I'm alright Jack" without considering the rest.

Why don’t you go on when it’s actually a requirement, then.

Don’t worry, I reckon the Brighton game will be 0-0 anyway so you might not miss much. Leeds could turn us over too if last season is anything to go by.

Hopefully for your sake the games from October onwards will be worth it.

Let’s hope not. I think we’ve all realised how much better footy is with fans in. The overwhelming majority will stick to whatever rules are brought in when they are brought in. Not much more we can do than that.

Random spot checks are impossible to work. Does anyone really think they are going to start pulling people in a queue and asking to see their medical record while not asking the person stood behind or infront.

The club either checks everyone or nobody.

I went on the NHS site and it’s quite easy to get a Covid vaccination pass letter sent to you but it’s up to 5 working days, so that won’t necessarily work for Saturday
It’d be better if they’d email a document but that wasn’t an option, you’d think in the push for paperless it would be.

They are a bit slow out of the trap with this one. Should have been announced weeks ago, if only to encourage more people to take up the vaccine.

Possibly waiting to see if recent large events turned into super spreaders.

If people are refusing to take the vaccine even now then a football game ain't going to convince them, they'd rather miss out on the football.

Done it….
It was the link below the one I’d originally chosen that actually stated get a letter but I’d expected that that would offer a paperless option by email.
I do think, on the email one, for some, maturer individuals, the taking of a photo ID and recording the video of your face, although very easy on the site will trip them out not to bother.

Why does a printed off bar code requested today give an expiry date in 2 days time and then say it is valid for 30 days from the date of issue ??

The Cricketfield stand always has about a hundred people waiting to get in at kick off as so many arrive at 10 to 3.

We haven't once delayed kick off.

I have a ticket for the Brighton game,I haven't been vaccinated. I bought a ticket for the game thinking you wouldn't need to vaccinated.

The whole thing is a joke from the Premier League and the club's. The whole communication around the whole thing is a farce. All this should of been sorted weeks ago not 4 days before the season starts.

I'll be going and if I don't get in I'll be asking the club for a refund on the basis I bought my ticket with no rules in place at the time !!

It is a joke i agree. It is the sole reason i opted not to renew my season ticket having initially paid my deposit. I didn't want to get a couple of months down the line and have to be pestering the ticket office for a refund if it transpired that you needed a vaccination to enter.

The rules are if you don’t produce a pass on demand you get turned away. I hope the club ensure that they enforce this. It sounds too slack so far. Also this might be the first time some people have been near so many others in a year and a half so I think patience is needed with anyone feeling a bit apprehensive.

There is no requirement to produce any sort of pass for the Brighton game - neither proof vaccination nor a negative test.

At the bottom of the "Match Information" page on the club's website it states:

"As we write, there are currently no requirements to provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test to gain entry to this match."

Please can post your seat number and stand so everyone can avoid sitting near you. Also, what time will you be using the bogs, as it gets pretty crowded and they are confined spaces.

Why?... Its PTN that'll be at risk, not people who've been jabbed.

Having 2 jabs doesn't mean people can't get covid or that people can't pass it on even though they show no symptoms.

Indeed.

However, relatively speaking the current risk levels (in terms of hospitalisation/death) for people who have been jabbed x2 are absolutely miniscule in comparison to those who have opted out of vaccination.

I'm not interested in having a 5 page debate about it on here. Feel free to have the last word.

So what exactly is the problem? If you've been jabbed and can still catch it, what difference does it make if the person next to hasn't?

Premier league statement only says spot checks at some grounds, with the attendance at Burnley very much likely being below the 20,000 mark I would be very surprised if they were doing this at the turf on Saturday.

Even with our brilliant scientist some people will be in lockdown
forever, if you have had both jabs get on with life and if you don't feel confident doing that stop having a go at people who for their own reasons haven't had the jab!

The way that's worded on the club website it implies you've ALWAYS had to carry ID when you attend matches and it's nothing to do with Covid. I didn't know that (if it's true) and apart from my season card, I never have and it's never been an issue.

Neither. Read it. Logical though as no point in having a check to then be allowed in anyway.
