Rangers-Malmo the big attraction, Arfield starts fir the Gers.

I didn't realise Jon Dahl Tomasson the former Newcastle star was the manager of Malmo.

Loads of EFL Cup ties as well, Sutton leading at Cardiff in the early KO'S is the main story thus far.

Phillips starts for Morecambe tonight and has the chance to pop one in the net at Elwood, although Rovers look like they fielded a fairly strong line up.

Also Jensen starts in the nets for Carlisle at Bramall Lane.

1-0 Rangers, Morelos assisted by Kent. Ludogorets leading 2-1 against Olympiacos, so they could be next up for Rangers, long time to play yet however.

Slightly embarrassing evening for Jensen, he has conceded a goal to Rhian Brewster.

On loan watch tonight Lukas Jensen is making his English professional debut for Carlisle against Sheffield United, sounds like a busy night and he's doing well, currently losing 1-0. Adam Phillips is making his first competitive start since returning to Morecambe against Rovers, also currently losing 1-0 courtesy of former Burnley youth Dolan. Mumbongo is on the bench for Accy for the second game running - made a good impact off the bench last time out so expect another appearance in the second half.

abysmal red card decision at Ibrox, Malmo down to 10

2-2 in Bulgaria, Olympiacos equalising with a penalty, I'd say I'm surprised, but I'd be lying.

Still 1-0 Rangers, but Malmo down to 10, the aptly named Bonke Innocent receiving a 2nd yellow, which even the Scottish commentators are saying was a crazy decision, big chance for Rangers to impose themselves now though with a man advantage for the 2nd half.

Stanley a goal to the good at the Millers.

Oh1 dear 1-1 at Ewood.

Adam Philips on loan from Burnley to Morcambe scoring an 86th min penalty to go 2-1 up at Ewood and “shushing” the home fans as they head out of the league cup is my favourite thing today!!

Bishop has just nudged Stanley in front at Rotherham. Good comeback for them after Saturday and a potential opportunity for a real East Lancs derby.

Phillips scored the winning goal against Rovers from the penalty spot, he also sparked a melee with a heavy challenge which earned him a yellow card. Jensen was on the losing end with Carlisle, the score remained 1-0 to Sheffield Utd. Mumbongo didn't get on as Accy beat Rotherham 2-1

I shouldn't laugh at Rovers, but what the heck.

Rangers turfed out by 10 man Malmo, how poor is Scottish football these days.

Olympiakos knocked out on pens, well they do say good things come in threes don't they. :)

Scottish football - I know Celtic are a massive club blah blah love reading twitter when they go nuts if we are ever linked with one of the bhoys. As if a player would choose first round elimination from European tournaments over the best league in the world.

Watched the Olympiacos match, they played really well in parts but their pens were absolutely minging. Had to laugh as I watched the match with an Olympiacos fan here in Greece. We had talked about their owners antics with the ref and he was adament he was within his rights to speak to the ref at half time

Just seen Shrewsbury came through on pens after fighting back from 2 goals down, so a reunion with Steve Cotterill is still possible.

Can I be the first to nominate Adam Phillips for Burnley's player of the season please?

I wanted to do it last night after the game but thought it might be a touch early.

You really can’t get better than that, a current Burnley player scoring the goal that knocks them out of a cup competition.
