Nothing at all received, did you use the email address as per the announcement post? - It's not a problem. The problem with the other issue was the site name being used and money being asked for.

I'm not sure it's an issue. It's common practice on some message boards.

Every time someone makes an edit to their post it flags up again to be checked by moderators. Moderators have to check every post anyway, so having people continually edited old posts can be a pain.

It's also a lot easier to deal with punishments when people can't edit out their insults later on.
