A police statement that I have read said that the suspect is not on the run in Plymouth.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 10:05 pmJust been on radio 5 - everyone advised to stay at home and lock the doors !!!!!

Re: Plymouth
Well what a weird group. I've heard of Incel's before, and frankly just assumed they were just people who wanted a sexual relationship but due to things like extreme shyness, awkwardness around people of the gender they wanted a relationship with, etc. were involuntarily celibate. Unhappy, unlucky people I thought.
So when I read DA's post I thought, 'Wow... why did he say that?' So I looked them up, admittedly on Wikipedia. It turns out the 'founder' of the idea was a woman who has absolutely nothing to do with the current bunch of 4chan whackos who apparently are misogynistic right wing extremists. She says, "Like a scientist who invented something that ended up being a weapon of war, I can't uninvent this word, nor restrict it to the nicer people who need it"
Weird, I pity her. Starting a chat group as a way to innocently connect with people and discuss an issue that was causing her pain, and watching from a distance now as it turns into something so ugly.

Deeply misogynistic, asocial shut-ins. Then they would be why young women aren't exactly queuing up to meet them.

Oops. No idea why that happened. Should have been - then they wonder why young women aren't exactly queuing up to meet them.
Re: Plymouth
Guy with a long barrelled shot gun. Shot 5 then himself. Tragic. How can a mentally disturbed person like he obviously was get a gun like that?

I like gaming, marvel movies and according to numerous complaints I spend away to much time on here.
That ain't what's caused him to have a screw loose.
Maybe there are certain forums that make his mindset worse, but it's their lifestyle and interpersonal relationships that are the problem plus maybe undiagnosed issues , not gaming and movies.
Re: Plymouth
Agree with the above. Clearly a sad loser with a screw loose and now a mass murderer and child killer. Sites like the ones he is supposed to have visited need closing down. The authorities will probably respond by banning pump action shotguns when 99.9% of owners use them responsibly in the right locations. The internet is clearly part of the problem for individuals like this.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 5:18 pmLooks like your standard type that liked gaming and marvel movies and lives on forums, though you’d really not want to view his browsing history . Re: Plymouth
Just keep away from the gun club ! Though it’s of course no laughing matter , though I’d imagine like myself 99.99999999999% of the population had no idea what “ incel” ?was . I’m sure the red tops are cooking up far worse than Ironman movies and FIFA for this awful specimen .GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 5:36 pmJust hold on a min...

Re: Plymouth
What would someone need a pump action shotgun for?
Seems like he had a licence but what would be the reason for being allowed one?

Re: Plymouth
I have 2 of them. I use one for hunting pheasant and trap shooting and the other for hunting wild pigs.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 6:26 pmWhat would someone need a pump action shotgun for?

Yes, I live in the USA. But those are reasons to have one. And though I've thankfully never needed one, I imagine if someone broke into my house at night, the mere sound of the action being pumped would be enough to warn any intruder. Though to be fair they're both locked in a gun case in another room so I'd never be able to reach them in an emergency.

Sporting use and farming even in the UK. I expect most will make do with a non pump version like myself. Nearly all legal owners are using them responsibly a bit like previous owners of other now banned guns.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 6:26 pmWhat would someone need a pump action shotgun for?

Re: Plymouth
Out of interest, what sporting use is it for? Clay Pigeon?
Re: Plymouth
Yes. You can hit targets quicker without reloading and hence a different skill. I expect some farmers will have them too for ease of use but not sure to what extent. It maybe the one in this case could hold more cartridges than allowed on a normal licence. Whatever way this was certainly in the wrong hands.

This is interesting, from Devon Live:
The certificate and shotgun had been removed from him by police in December 2020 following an allegation of assault in September 2020, the watchdog said.
