I've read the "caught covid on t'Turf" thread - and it's now locked.
I want to share a little of my experience/observations.
I've been playing walking football for the past 7/8 weeks. It's run by "Age UK" and everyone is over 55. (OK, yes, that's my demographic now).
So far as I can recall, the walking footballers haven't been asked whether we've been double jabbed. My guess is that most have.
One of the walking footballers was at Euro 2020 final at Wembley. He was double jabbed sometime before going to Wembley. He caught covid-19 at the final. He was pretty rough for a couple of weeks. He was back playing walking football 11-August, though reported he was still a little "groggy" and "brain fogged" at times.
Another of the walking footballers attended a social at his golf club on 6-August. Again, he'd been double jabbed a couple of months earlier. He caught covid-19 at the golf social. He reported he'd been ill for a week, like a "bad summer flu" is how he described it. He was back playing walking football yesterday.
Both these guys have said they are glad they'd had the vaccine. Both feel that it made their illness a lot less severe and a lot easier to recover from than if they hadn't been vaccinated.
If Chester Perry's post re Premier League and covid-19 passports is implemented we will all need to show that we've been vaccinated before attending a game. I understand Chelsea (and maybe one or two other PL clubs) have already brought in that rule for their home games.
Take care, everyone.

Re: Walking football - and covid
One of my friends is approaching 80 (not my demographic!), double jabbed, caught it and recovered without passing it to his wife.
Another friend (50s), not vaccinated, died last week, I know of a similar situation for someone in her 30s.
A friend of my sons (school age) was hospitalised last year.
It might not stop people getting covid, but it certainly seems to be lessening the impact.

Like the Boycott Curry scenario, still get the runs but mot as quick!
Double jabbed, but with the variant, you can still get Covid but not as bad!

Both me and my missus are double jabbed, last week her daughter tested positive and lives in the same house as us....neither of us has caught it even though we are in close proximity to her day in day out!

All the friends I consider intelligent (including several doctors) have been double jabbed.
My daughter who is an NHS nurse is double jabbed and so are her colleagues. They have seen every day what Covid does. They have held dying patients hands when relatives can’t be there.
Come on guys. End the false rumours and outright lies. Go get vaccinated!!
Make Turf Moor a happy place, a safe place!
