The Positives

Most of us would have taken a 1-1 before kickoff.
We stopped Leeds, the best team in the world, from only having 1 shot on target.
No game now for 2 weeks giving Cornet a chance to meet the gaffer and the players and be on the bench vs Everton
We get our first point on the board

Gutting way to drop the two points but it was very important for us to get off the mark. The bench looked a lot stronger and with Cornet and hopefully another player on his way before the next game we should be good to go.

Wood got his season up and running.
A point gets us on the board
And added to the cup win, and the Cornet signing it's not been a bad week considering.

Plus in our games against Brighton, Leeds & Newcastle we've matched all 3 for large parts of the game, and it's only really at Anfield where we were outclassed, but that's to be expected.

After 3 games last season we had 0 points, and still comfortably survived. So I'm still confident we'll be fine.

It might be the last time we see Lennon this season.

Cornet would slot in perfect in place of JBG

Lacked a bit of creativity, through the middle (as is often the case) and down the right, but I thought we shaded it. If Cornet offers the pace and skill down the right hand side, that we are missing, it’ll be a big boost.

I was a tad concerned after their equaliser, they looked to have more left in the tank than we did. Overall though, a decent hard working performance with some good spells of play.

Another signing or two and we’ll be set for another season above forty points, based on that.

I thought we played well today until we scored !! Instead of staying on the front foot , we drop 10 yards and invite pressure . WE'RE ABOVE ARSENAL

I'd say our best player on the day, other than Wood due to his goal.

Big improvement on the last game v Leeds at home
We stopped them playing, but looked a bit exposed in the first half
Dwight had a great game
WE played some great football at times in the second half

I actually thought Lennon looked about a stone lighter and was far livelier than his first spell.

We got a point
McNeil plays for us
Sun was shining
Crowd sounded into it
Avoided longest run of home defeats in club history
We signed a player who will hopefully improve the team

I'm positive our central midfield lacks any pace or strength

And to be fair, for you, that is a positive.

If McNeil played central, you'd complain he's not strong enough.

At least there is another chance our sporting staff will soon realise that - when taking a lead - there are two options to see out the game:
1. Continue to play on the front foot and go for a second goal
2. Change the format and make substitutions in order to shut the opposition out (4-5-1 for example)

He WAS TERRIFIC!
He was our only creative option and was indeed excellent , though his finishing was poor and his lack of a right foot a possible hinderance

we are close to being a good side with only one creative player. We now have another with the potential for more players to come in. If Cornet hits the ground running then we can still win the league ;)

The most astute post on this thread. Our stubbornness or inability to deviate from the framework will cost us this season. That and one or two are a little too long in the tooth these days.

Great atmosphere for a change.

Players matched a very fit Leeds side.

Pope hardly had anything to do.

McNeill looked a bit fitter today and put a massive shift in.

Players look up for it.

Signing of Cornet and more to come hopefully.

Tarky trolling Bamford on Twitter.

Stopped the rot of home defeats

Positives for me was that we learnt a lesson from the BHA defeat we dug in and gave an extra mile.

Lennon was instrumental in keeping our shape, we didn't have that option against Brighton
