We've decided to sell our property back home and are looking for any recommendations for solicitors in the Burnley area please (from your own personal experiences). Thanks

Hi there
I don't actually live in the area but I'm selling my aunt's bungalow in Colne We're using Anham Nadin of Watson Ramsbottom in Accrington .She took over when the conveyancing company recommended by our estate agent made a complete orchestras of everything.Smashing lady to deal with..really on the ball and reasonable cost -wise

Nina Barlow of Farnworth Rose , who have offices in Barrowford and Nelson, was excellent in helping both myself and subsequently my son buy our properties.

There’s nobody better than Stephen Anderson at DRN but he’s very expensive.
A cheaper option is Hamers at Haslingden but the service is nowhere near as good

Another recommendation for DRN in Burnley. Can't remember the solicitor's name but she was extremely efficient and helpful. Everything had to be done quickly as I was emigrating.
Mind you, getting "mates rates" was a real bonus!

We've used Smith Sutcliffe a number of times and they have been fine. Whatever you do though don't use the solicitors attached to the agents if you use a national agent such as Bridgfords IMHO they are dearer and very slow.

Any reason why you want one near Burnley there shouldn't be any need to appoint someone local? My daughter has just bought a house in Newton Abbot in Devon and the conveyancing solicitor was in the north of England. They never met but everything was done incredibly quickly and thoroughly and he always responded within 30 mins to any enquiry, I am used to waiting for conveyancers to get a move on rather than everything being done on time. Needless to say he was very impressive and inexpensive. I can forward you the details if you like.

I used Watson Ramsbottom for my new house recently and to be fair they were great.
It was painful having to sign and post documents 2-3 times a week due to Covid restrictions, but this wasn’t their fault, it’s just the way it had to be.

I never said she was my "mate" and the reason for getting "mates rates". There are other solicitors at DRN.

I don't know the area but I have moved several times and there is no substitute for going LOCAL with a good solicitor.Avoid a national internet conveyancer at all cost. Our sellers did this when we last moved and their "cheap conveyancer" 100 miles away delayed our move by about 4 weeks,. Moving is stressful enough without this extra hurdle

Stephen Anderson at DRN is excellent. I actually don't think he is expensive, I have paid more for far worse service. He may have moved up and no longer actually do the work but always found DRN to be top drawer

father in law lives locally and has all our paperwork/deeds etc. Just makes life easier for him, where was our guy based ?
