Your starting eleven vs Everton

Now that the fun of the transfer window is over, what is your starting eleven vs Everton. (For the benefit of page I am taking it Cornet is available for selection).

Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
Gudmundsson Cork Westwood Cornet
Mcneil
Wood

However I would be tempted by a midfield three with Cornet and McNeil wide.

The big question is will SD start with Cornet-few new players have unless they joined pre season, although Jeff Hendrick went straight into the team v Leicester. I have a feeling we start with the same team v Leeds and Cornet will come on in the second half

Cornet cannot play against Everton. If he plays for Ivory Coast in Mozambique this afternoon he'll need to quarantine for 10 days when he returns to the UK next week and so will be unavailable.

As op, but Brownhill for Cork. However, no chance that Cornet will start. It's just not SD. So Vydra to play behind Wood.

Are you assuming Brownhill is injured ?
If he's not, I'd start him and have Cornet on the bench to be unleashed in spectacular fashion if and when required.

I was under the impression premier league players are not allowed to play internationals in red listed countries?

The premier league can’t dictate what foreign football associations do.

No chance Cornet will start. Dyche has already said he first needs to settle into the area, meet the lads and see what he’s like in training. The fact he’s away on international now just adds more time to this.

My team would be the one that started against Leeds but with Vydra replacing Barnes.

The Premier League supported the clubs decision on what they wanted to do, but Spurs & Villa released their Argentinian players to play in red list countries meaning they'll quarantine when they return and miss a game.

There’s no chance he’ll be in the country never mind start (unless there’s some special dispensation for footballers) if he’s in Mozambique today. I suspect the Rochdale cup tie might be his first game.

No big question here for me I’m afraid. It’s an easy answer. Cornet doesn’t start….

I’d take a gamble and have a look at him, blood him early so to speak, but if SD does, I’ll be most surprised. I think your last sentence will be bang on the money.

That works for me…. I’d like that to get some time on the grass. Unfortunately, it may be some considerable time before that team starts a game.

I understand the clamour to see Cornet turn out for us, but even if available after the international break can you really justify throwing him straight into the starting lineup? Similarly, where is the justification for dropping Lowton for Roberts? This goes against everything that this team stands for.

I'd be shocked to see Dyche play a RB carrying a groin injury   Roberts won't feature until fully recovered, I'd think, and may slot in at RW from the bench initially.

Imagine it will be the same again, with Vydra getting more time from the bench and hopefully a Cornet debut at some point, depending how the game is panning out (doubt he'll risk him if we get our noses in front).

Cornet at best will be on the bench, and Roberts is still recovering from injury.

TBH it wouldn't surprise me if both feature in our 23's to build up their match fitness, before being thrown straight into the 1st team, and the challenge of PL footy at a new club.

Although that's more likely to be in Roberts case, as Cornet has played minutes for Lyon this season.

That may be the case. I think Roberts, regardless of his current injury, will have to wait his turn. There’s very little reason to drop Lowton currently.

I can see Cornet being integrated into the starting eleven fairly soon, but this will understandably be after at least one appearance from the bench.

Even if the two of them were available against Everton I think it’s bonkers to suggest they should both start.

Now those are our two best 11s in my opinion and at least slightly realistic. I can’t imagine dyche going 3 or 5 at the back at the moment. We won’t play them against Everton because lowton will play and cornet won’t. Vydra is also unlikely until Barnes gets injured... but having the quality and creativity of McNeil, Cornet, Vydra or Gudmundsson on the pitch will improve our chance creation no end.

Times (print edition) reporting that they might miss 3 games if they play in all 3 of Argentina's fixtures.

There's a FIFA rule that will also ban players who declined national call up for 5 days after the international window. At least 2 of the Latin/South American countries are insisting FIFA enforces this rule on some Premier League clubs/players.

Anyone know what England's quarantine rules are, is it 10 days from when you arrive in UK, or 10 days after you departed the red country? I'm assuming Cote D'Ivoire is not a red country.

And, then there's the international break in October...

Can't see Cornet being involved at Everton. Covid protocols aside, Sean has already said that the first job will be to get him settled in and give him time to get used to us. Even the Arsenal game may be too soon. I think that the Rochdale game might be his first involvement.

Can't see Cornet playing against Rochdale - he'll get kicked off the park.

Roberts at Right Back? If Lowton keeps his form, it won't be this season

I'd just go

Pope

Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor

JBG Westwood Brownhill McNeil

Vydra Wood

Don't think there's enough time to implement a new formation or for Cornet to get up to speed if available. I'd just bring Vydra in for Barnes as we're more dynamic and a different prospect when he's playing - Keane and Mina aren't weak in the air so makes sense to go for a more mobile option too.

If Cornet is available it will be nice to have an impact player on the bench, him and Lennon bringing more pace against tired legs.

I can see the team ‘evolving’ over the next few months to:

Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Westwood Brownhill McNeil
Cornet Wood

Cornet should be coached to play right midfield (to cover JBG) and left/right forward to play alongside Wood.

I think Sean wants McNeil to play just behind Wood with Cornet on the right and JBG on the left. Certainly JBG spent a lot of time on the left against both Brighton and Leeds.

Now we've all had a while longer to understand and digest our new signings how should we line up tmrw, and what's the bench likely to be. Although potentially only one of them in a position to start, it does give us several options imo, my guess is that it's in dyche's thoughts to move mcneil central in a no10 role, with Cornet on the left,or even swap throughout. And then given that cornet is said to be able to play left, right or central it also opens so many other options up. But then as we're all aware dyche will probably choose not to include cornet tmrw, and we could be more likely to see him v arsenal.
