I’d forgotten Rocket Ron played (briefly) in that game. If I’m remembering the season correctly that was the last point we got under Frank Casper, amazing to think we went from second in the league to changing managers in less than a month.

I missed this game as I was in Corfu. Remember eating in a restaurant and the waiter asked 'what can i get this evening for the Burnley fan?' How do you know that I asked. I saw you earlier with a Burnley shirt on. I'm from Duke Bar.....

Briefly indeed. It was his final season in the league too.

Remember this game well. Especially for this photo. We were getting annoyed with a photographer taking pictures behind us. turns out it was Stuart Clarke from the homes of Football. That is me in the picture with the Burnley top on.

I suspect some typically dubious accounting go on when they declared the attendance at less than 10k. Can't remember the capacity at the time, but wouldn't want to see 12k or so more squeeze in looking at that photo..

I still remember with great fondness some of the players mentioned, Pender, Roger Eli ,Marriot and the legend super Johny Francis, still one of my all time favourite players.

This is the first game I can remember from this season that I went on. Mainly because Hamilton scored an own goal and got sent off.

Decent crowd on early in the season. I was under the impression they were around 6k and built steadily as the season went on with more success.

I sponsored his shorts during that season and not long after he left Burnley, David Hamilton was playing in a charity game at BAE near Preston, I thought I’d tell him that I sponsored his shorts to which he laughed and said “fine lot of good that did me.” He was a really nice bloke but his spell at Burnley wasn’t the best unfortunately.

I remember him for 3 things:
- getting injured at Forest from a Stuart Pearce challenge
- getting sent off at Torquay in the play-offs
- own goal and red card against Crewe

Oh, and I seem to remember him scoring quite a spectacular goal at Stockport in the Rumbelows Cup

When I worked at the Turf mid 90s I did drinks for the directors. In their lounge was a screen with the attendance numbers per stand and terrace. When the away following wasn't huge then the numbers on the screen tallied with a visual assessment of the away end. When the away following was large, Wolves for example in 94/95 then the numbers on the screen looked on the low side v what I could see. Suggests maybe one or more turnstiles didn't register and were only used for big away followings....
