Pope 6 not a lot he could of done
Lowton 6 thought he looked ok
Tarks 5
Mee 5
Taylor 5 marked him down purely down to his positioning and lack of quality on the ball when in good positions.
McNeil 5 offered little
Brownhill 4 I would happily never see him play for Burnley again. Just useless
Westwood 5
Gudmundsson 6 good cross for goal
Wood 4
Barnes 4

Overall a shocking performance where we could of easily conceded 5-6 goals

Pope 7 - couple of decent saves and his kicking was reasonable.
Lowton 6 - thought he was solid enough but lost Grey for their third unfortunately.
Tarkowski 7* - a good game and should gave had a penalty in the first half.
Mee 6 - some sloppy moments but did well for the goal and maybe could have had another in the first half.
Taylor 6 - a real outlet but not quite sure why he was so out.of.position for their first. We also seem to be conceding a very high percentage of our goals from down his side.
Gudmunson 6 - worked hard and good delivery for our goal but quite a few sloppy moments.
Brownhill 4- gave the ball away poorly in the build.up for their second. Should have done better with his chance in the first half and generally sloppy on the ball.
Westwood 6 - some reasonable delivery and did ok until they changed their shape and we began to struggle.
McNeil 7 - thought he had a good game, worked hard and a fantastic ball for Wood in the first half
Wood 4 - contrived to miss a golden chance and completely lost Keane for their goal.
Barnes 5 - worked hard and caused them some issues but he shouldn't be starting.

Pope 6
Lowton 6 quiet
Taylor 7 offered a threat
Tarks 7 solid
Mee 6 passing was disgusting
Westwood 6 totally overrun
Brownhill 5 ineffective, as always
Mc Neil 7 tried, but let down by the rest
Jbg 6 had moments
Wood 5 quiet.
Barnes 4 utter toss

Lennon 3 pointless
Dyche -100 completely to blame tonight

That was not a shocking performance. We bossed the first half and on another day would have been 2-0 at half time. A mad six minutes yes but let’s get some perspective. McNeil offered little! Really?

Maybe you could do with getting over that not everyone shares the same view as you, but that it doesn’t make them any less entitled to their opinion?

Just a thought.

Tarkowski 6
Mee 6

JBG 4

Brownhill 4
McNeil 6

Wood 6
Barnes 4

It’s got to be a change in shape going forward. Two forwards isn’t affecting the game - particularly when one of them is Barnes - and we are constantly overrun in midfield.

Pope 4
Lowton5
Tarks 6
Mee 6
Taylor 7 mom
JBG 5
Westwood 6
Brownhill 4 Lots of energy. Nothing else
McNeil 6 Played best cross in game
Wood 3 pulled out of best cross in game and cost Tarks a goal with a lazy offside. And he and Barnes watched Keane scoreNot his finest hour
Barnes 3 Still nowhere near his pre injury form

Dyche out managed again. Should have brought Cork on for Barnes when Rafa brought on Gomez. He just ran the game

Pope 6 2 very good saves but let 3 in.
Lowton 6 played well for most of it
Mee 4 point for his goal but way out of position for 2 of their goals. Hugging the left touchline for the 3rd.
Tarks 6
Taylor 6
McNeil 7 played very well at times
Brownhill 6
Westwood 6
JBG 6 good assist
Wood 4 Poor
Barnes 3 non existent

Once Cornet settles in, maybe Dwight will play in behind Wood.

I think the most telling thing was the Dyche interview on Sky where he did not accept that Rafa changing formation was the reason why the match turned on its head. It’s a worry that Dyche could not see that he needed to react to that tactical change by Rafa. And for all we love Dyche and what he has done, I imagine there are very few on here who could make a case for him being a good tactician. Time after time, he fails to respond when an opposing manager makes a change.

Pope 6
Lowton 5 did ok defensively, where's the supply into the box? non existent
Tarkowski 5
Mee 5
Taylor 7 MOM
Gudmundsson 5 apart from 1 cross into the box, offered nowt
Brownhill 4 not good enough i'm afraid, constantly gave the ball away.
Westwood 4 useless, again, zero bravery on the ball just wellys it into the channel or passes backwards, where is the midfielder on the half turn, dropping a shoulder to create space and play forward? robotic player
Mcneil 7 played well, constantly looking for the ball and brave with carrying it.
Barnes 3 touched the ball once to lay off to Brownhill
Wood 5 offered more quality than Barnes, little service.

Lennon 3 absolutely appalling signing, offered absolutely zero apart from give the ball away once.

Average side??? WTF? If Everton are average what are we?

We played them off the park for 45 minutes and couldn’t score. They had they “luxury” of bringing on far better players than we have and changing the game. Hour there hell does that make it a pathetic performance?

No I saw us have plenty of the ball and do next to nothing with it.

We have won 4 in our last 24 and kept 2 clean sheets in 18.

Yet we still have fans defending this. Something needs to change rapidly

Yes average, a team that regularly finishes mid table.

Played of them of the park and had two shots on target.

I will say it again something needs to change rapidly.

Pope 7
Lowton 6
Taylor 8**
Tarks 7
Mee 7

Westwood 5
Brownhill 6
McNeil 7
Gudmunson 5

Wood 5
Barnes 4

Best side for over an hour, then a mad 10 minutes.
Poor marking for their first.
That second was a worldy.
Lost the ball going forward and, a few seconds later, some great movement a superb through ball saw us 3-1 down.
We're playing some good stuff, and seem to be having more of the ball than usual.
But it's becoming a very worrying trend to keep taking the lead then losing.

Pope 6 - not much more he could do
Lowton 5 - Nothing going forward and left gray for the 3rd
Tarks 6 - pretty solid and should have scored.
Mee 7 - good goal and pretty solid but did go walkabouts for their 1st.
Taylor 6 - Alright going forwards and alright at the back.
JBG 5 - did absolutely nothing but good cross.
Brownhill 4 - both central midfielders were absolutely sh!te. Completely overrun and offered FA.
Westwood 4 - same as brownhill
McNeil 7 - thought he was immense first half. Best player on the pitch and the ball to wood was unbelievable. Missing completely second half but that is more the fault of the team.
Wood 5 - missed a sitter but some good touches and he tries.
Barnes 4 - he tries but really shouldn’t start.

Disappointing performance. The way we played first half, and when we got that goal, I really thought we were onto our first win - just close out the game as we always would have. Worryingly we imploded. We can play as well as we like but with Barnes up top we look toothless as we reach the final 3rd. I really think now is the time, especially away from home or against the bigger teams, to go with a 5 man midfield.

Pope 6
Lowton 5
Mee 6 scored and blocked backed off for goal
Tarks 6
Taylor 5 so passive for Townsends strike , zero pressure
McNeil 7 mom our only quality
Jbg 6
Westwood and brownhill both 6s - 2v2 they are decent however as soon as they get outnumbered / pressured they struggle at this level especially as options disappear, is that their fault or the managers?

Wood 5 should score and attack ball on first, but competed atleast when ball went up
Barnes 0 we played with ten men. Offered absolutely nothing whatsoever an absolute passenger tonight

Barnes 3

Today highlighted once again the failure in our framework rigidity and the need to sign a box to box battleship centre mid last transfer window as we simply imploded yet again after conceding the 1st goal after leading

We just got spanked by a very average side. We created very little and could have comfortably conceded 5-6 goals.

If that isn’t a shocking performance I don’t know what is
Stay in Newcastle my friend ..... see you in December eh?

Pope 6

Lowton 5
Tarkowski 7
Mee 7
Taylor 8 - thought he was excellent.

JBG 6
Brownhill 6
Westwood 5
McNeil 6

Wood 6
Barnes 3 - complete passenger. Cannot start against Arsenal

A strange game. I think we've actually played pretty well for most of it. First half we're by far the better team. Could and should have had goals from Wood and Brownhill. Took a deserved lead but didn't manage it again. Made adjustments way too late (and not the right ones). It's difficult to see a lead squandered again but I still think there are plenty of positives to take from it.

Anyone calling it a "shocking performance - seriously - watch the game for 90 minutes, not 10.

Barnes has to be dropped and Lennon cannot be getting on ahead of Cornet. During the games Dyche needs to take some note of what the opposition are doing. They're making changes for reasons and we have to respond before the damage is done.

Absolutely but Dyche will persevere with this unfathomable selection.

I was there tonight. Haven't been to an away game for a long time. Interesting to see some of the assessments, but for me I thought we were excellent until their goal - their second was a worldy - 1 in 200, and then we fell apart. But we were terrific in the first half...looked the stronger side, and it continued in the second half until their goal. On another day, we would have got something out of that game. I was fairly proud of the lads.
ps never been to Goodison....didnt realise how old it was ...wooden floors and quite claustraphobic with that low roof. But great throwback to old times...with close terrace houses on 3 sides and nearly 40,000 turning up, queuing up back to the houses - I walked round a few times before game to take in the atmosphere as I will never go again. Lots of wiffs of aftershave...I think Liverpool fellas like to smell nice.

Pope 6
Lowton 6
Tarkowski 6
Mee 6
Taylor 6
JBG 6
Westwood 5
Brownhill 3 what is he doing in the PL ?
McNeil 7
Wood 4
Barnes 3 offered f all as unusual

Subs. Lennon 4 did a couple of backward passes and helped defence the 3-1 score line

Dyche 3 Dinosaur tactics. Reactive and slowly. No plan B. Same old.

The turgid football is bearable when we can ground out results and defend. We lack quality in the final third, rarely look like scoring more than one, we are very weak in central midfield, have no pace and now the defence doesn’t look so solid. Seeing Barnes and Brownhill in the starting line up just doesn’t excite me at all. Think I might take some time out and we are only 4 games in.

Pope 6 - decent performance, but might be disappointed with the third
Lowton 7 - not an easy ride in the second half but solid enough
Tarkowski 7 - I liked it but that tackle was a bit tasty. Good centre back performance on the whole.
Mee 7 - don’t like seeing him following play out to the wing, it destabilises the defence. Took his chance well.
Taylor 7 - Big fan of Taylor but opposition do tend to fancy their chances against him and McNeil, hence Mee getting dragged across for the goal.
Gudmundsson 7 - thought he was excellent for an hour but struggled when the tide turned
Brownhill 6 - a Billy Ingham type who will never be appreciated by some. Needs to tighten up his passing and then will become a good player.
Westwood 6 - a player who can deliver quality for Burnley, but when swamped struggles to make an impact.
Mcneil 7- continued his encouraging new season form. Improving on his concentration which bodes well.
Barnes 6 - thought he did the job well, not his fault SD (in my opinion) left the Vydra switch about 15 minutes too late.
Wood 6 - Never dreamed when I saw Wood at the end of Mcneil’s wonder pass that he’d miss it. Seemed a little out of sorts generally, I thought.

Lennon 6 - I pressume a purely calming influence, in which case the ship did realign, but offered little.
Vydra - Would have loved to see him tear at those centre-halves while we were ahead though.

after the first goal for them, it seemed every pass went astray and panic was set in, hard to believe how it changed so much after that first goal. So disappointing, yet again I thought we were going to get the three points only to see our hard to beat team be beaten so easy to a few more goals, at least one was offside thankfully.

I've just watched the footage and Pope must have been ill or something.

Normally he'd go for the save, but he just gave up, all match.

Somebody psychologically got to him.

I blame God or the devil.
