Pope 5, I think he'll be disappointed with the goal
Lowton 6, delivery so poor
Tarkowski 7, played well
Mee 7, has to start passing it and stop whacking it long but defended very well.
Taylor 7, got into some great positions 2nd half, the delivery let him down too often.
JBG 3 completely anonymous
Westwood 5, too eager to launch it, show some composure.
Brownhill 7, thought he played very well today 2nd half, energy and neat touches to drive forward.
Mcneil 7, always looking to be positive with the ball, shows composure, not his best day but good.
Barnes 3 clear weaklink, bundles into players when the cross is coming in, giving away cheap freekicks. The game changed when he went off
Wood 4, thought he was poor today, looks tired, possibly needs a rest after playing extra games in the Olympics.

Cornet 8 MOM completely changed the game, lost the ball once and only once. Touched the ball more times in 30 minutes than Gudmundsson has all season, neat 1 2's, very very good today.

Vydra 8 linked play well, crafty 1 2s, unlucky with the penalty. Energetic and completely transforms the way we play.

Rodriguez 4 apart from the poor header at the end, barely touched the ball.

Pope 6 - excellent keeper but utterly woeful with his feet
Lowton 6 - good ball second half for Wood’s chance
Tarkowski 7 - kept Aubameyang quiet
Mee 7 - same as Tark
Taylor 7 - decent until final ball
JBG 5 - ineffective again
Westwood 5 - needs to show more composure at times
Brownhill 6 - generally good and thought he was better on the ball than usual
McNeil 6 - quiet on both wings today
Wood 4 - not one of his better games
Barnes 4 - please Sean it’s enough now

Cornet 8 - changed the game, very impressive and simply has to start
Vydra 8 - it’s so blatantly obvious we are a better team with him in the side and I’m simply not having Barnes is better at defending from the front either, his work rate and pressing is faster and just better, let alone the link up play he offers

Pope 5 not a lot to do saves wise, but his poor kick started the lead up to the goal, he had a few poor kicks.
Taylor 7 got up and down very well
Tarky 7 played well looked solid, 1 slip apart
Mee 7 as above
Lowton 6 we rely so much on good deliveries, he provided zero
JBG 5 very quiet, looks afraid to even try and beat a man
Brownhill 6 silly yellow to give away the freekick, meant just like v Everton he was walking a tightrope the rest of the game and couldn't play his natural game and had to be over cautious and safe.
Westwood 6 ok but nothing creative wise at all
McNeil 4 Crossing a shambles, lost the ball numerous times and even struggled to find a claret shirt a couple of times with simple passes. Wrong option taken too often too, the dragged shot at the end summing up his day.
Wood 5 Constantly offside and no real threat all afternoon, although he was living off hoofs and appalling crossing
Barnes 3 absolute blind man on a galloping horse can see he is finished as a premier league starter. Zero pace, struggled to find a foot, constantly fouling and breaking up momentum, very poor header with a good chance, then rounded off his day with a standard Barnes booking that again effects the rest of his play

Cornet 8 wasn't afraid of getting the ball, tried to make something happen every single time , however really do think he should have done better with his chance although he did hit the target at least.
Vydra 6 certainly needs a run in the side now, did what no other forward we have would have done in winning us a pen, i think he will suit playing with Cornet with the give and goes and slide through balls.

A much better 2nd half but again we lacked any real goal mouth chances, just a few half chances and situations we could have chose better options.
A sloppy goal has cost us against possibly the poorest Arsenal side I've seen, they were so boring and poor, shame we didn't try and get on the front foot early and pressure them.
However starting our best team will probably help that, and hopefully we see that sooner rather than later.

First 57 minutes were awful. Hit and hope, no ideas, completely predictable. So easy to play against. Teams know exactly what to expect from us every time. Subs changed the game and we were better after but apart from the Cornet chance never looked like scoring. Need to get some momentum, this season has been dire so far and looks like being a long one. Hopefully the new signings start games and make a difference.

Then Westwood down to a 5, really poor that.

My eyes aren't what they once were from the back of the Cricketfield. Thought it was Brownhill.

Pope 6, solid, distribution lacked a bit today.
Lowton 7, Stopped an almost certain goal with a last gasp clearance. Bust a gut a few times to get back and make some good interceptions. Decent Game
Tarkowski 8, I wish a few others wanted it as much as Tarks does. Incredibly solid at the back, dominated the strikers today.
Mee 7, Solid game.
Taylor 7, The combo of Taylor and Mcneil is very good, they work together really well. Taylor got some great balls into danbgerous areas, we just couldn't get anyone on the end of them.
JBG 5, poor game by his standards, never really featured much.
Westwood 6, silly freekick to give away there, but he absolutely worked his conkers off that second half. Chased everything.
Brownhill 6, Couple of times he had a chance to put his laces through it, but ultimately made poor decisions. Can't fault his work rate though, just needs confidence.
Mcneil 8, Everything good that we create comes through him. He hit the side netting and isn't afraid to beat a man or take on the shot. Did well.
Barnes 4, One trick pony now, sadly. Refs and opposition have him sussed out.
Wood 5, only seemed to wake up once Barnes left the pitch. Would have probably left him on as I still think he is a real threat in the air. Need to get him back on form.

Cornet 7, very promising. Some nice touches and interceptions, just a couple of times when he could have made that run down the wing, but he was drifting inside a lot. Still, he looks a real handful and I am delighted we got him.

Vydra 7, should have done better on a couple of occasions when he worked himself into good positions, but at least he is getting in those positions and I am convinced his movement is what give Wood that bit more freedom.

Pope 6 great leg save, no chance goal , feet a bit iffy
Lowton 5 poor delivery and a relief when Roberts replaces
Mee 6 good defending poor distribution
Tarks 7 good all round game
Taylor 7 a real outlet on the left
McNeil 6 ok but awful final balls
Westwood 5 hit long far to often
Brownhill 6 battled hard but a limited player
JBG 4 barely visible - hopefully now replaced
Wood 5 been poor all season but our best hope
Barnes 3 just awful ,too slow to get onto anything and not even good enough to win fouls . A shambles

Cornet 7 nice debut an obvious class act
Vydra 7 livened it up must start ahead of Barnes
J Rod only on 8 mins few touches

We were decent loads of crosses /half chances . A pen we should of had and a great chance ruined by Barnes awful through ball

Pope 5 pathetic kick out which led to goal, dreadful wall and positioning for free kick, it was hardly an earth shattering free kick.
Lowton 5
Taylor 7 got forward well.
Tarkowski 8 thought he was dominant.
Mee 7
Westwood 4 wasteful.
Brownhill 7 tried great engine
Gudmundsson 4
Wood 4 terrible
Barnes 3 wish there was a lower score permitted, he is finished at this level and an embarrassment. Blame Fyche for exposing him to this ridicule.
McNeill 6 just flashes

Vydra 7
Cornet 9 mom. What s difference when he came on.

Cornet linked up well with Taylor (mom) who put some excellent crosses in but our forwards out of position

Looks like Cornet and McNeil are better players on the left side so might be a problem going forward

Brownhill and Westwood worked hard and battled for every ball but are too similar in style of play, young Jack Cork needed asap

We'd a good second half. Average first.
Overall, we've played pretty well most games.
But we need things to go for us at the mo. A flukey goal to seal a first win would do for a start.

Hopefully Cornet will help on the confidence side. He looks to have loads. Not so many of his team mates.

Hard to rate that. First half was about as bad as it gets. One dimensional, predictable, dreary, one paced hoofball.

2nd was better after the subs. Hopefully that's the last we see of that starting 11.

Vydra in for Barnes is so obvious, you have to wonder what Dyche sees in training. It's no good saying he defends from the front when we can't score and we are conceding every game anyway.

I think if both Vydra and Cornet play, both Westwood and especially Brownhill will have to sit much deeper, but I thought it looked very promising with them both.

I dont think we deserved to lose today, and the scores may look harsh, but that's because Arsenal were so poor. They are lucky to have 6 points, and I think we deserve a couple more too

From a TV stream

Pope 5 - At fault for the goal. Maybe not the direct save but lining his wall and the misplaced kick that led to it
Lowton 6
Tarks 7
Mee 7
Taylor 7
JBG 6
Brownhill 6
Westwood 7
McNeil 7

Barnes 6

Vydra 6
Cornet 7

A decent display all-round but very disappointing to come away with nothing again. We really have to break the losing habit. We also need to be creating more chances.

Great to see Cornet come on and affect the game the way he did. Lifted the crowd and added an extra dimension to our game. Early, but promising.

I watched the ref as he walked it out. He took ten very full strides...
Nevertheless, poor from Pope initially, lazy from Barnes in the wall, and I thought Pope was a little slow to get across

Pope 6 don’t think he’ll be winning the golden glove this year
Lowton 6 think Roberts will be an improvement
Tafkowski 7
Mee 7
Taylor 7 thought he played well today
JBG 5
Westwood 6
Brownhill 6
McNeil 7
Barnes 4 talk about flogging a dead horse. Offered what I thought he would. Dyche thought he’d trouble the Arsenal defence though 😀
Wood 5

Subs: Cornet 8 quality on the ball, won headers, a corner and intelligent play.
Vydra 7 should have started but most fans knew this
JRod a waste of time these days. Offers nothing in the PL.

Predictable line up and predictable result again. Don’t look like scoring and leaking goals every match despite playing well n patches. We could really struggle as we can’t just rely on scoring 1 goal in the odd match. A real dearth of quality in the final third and Barnes J Rod along with CM need upgrading ASAP.

Pope 7
Lowton 6 would like to see Roberts in team soon
Tarks 7
Mee 6
Taylor 7, good going forward, bit open at the back
JBG 6 okay in bits
Westwood 4 woosh
Brownhill 6 better when Cornet came on
McNeil 6 needs more consistency
Wood 6 nothing to feed off
Barnes 4 hopefully won't see him near starting eleven again

Cornet 8 mom proper attacking forward with pace, will he do the same when he has embraced the framework?
Vydra 7 how Barnes starts before him is puzzling to say the least.

Much better performce second half when Cornet and Vydra came on. Shame we ouldn't get a point against the worst Arsenal team I have seen in the PL.

Pope 6 - handling was good but it’s his poor distribution that’s the talking point again. Today it’s the start of the problem for the goal

Lowton -6
Tarks -7
Mee 7
Taylor 7

JBG -4
Westwood -5 looked frustrated all game
Brownhill -6
McNeil -6 by the end he looked exhausted

Barnes -4 shouldn’t have started this game. Should t start against Leicester. But he will.
Wood - 4

Vydra -7
Cornet -7

We deserved something out of that. As with Everton there’s plenty of positives but right now we are finding ourselves on the wrong end of fine margins whereas previously we’ve been on the right side.
There is absolutely no need to panic though. We’re in a bad spell especially at home but overall I don’t think the performances have been that bad.
Adjustments should still be made tho. No-one other than Dyche sees Barnes doing even close to enough to earn a starting spot. JBG is not in that category but he’s getting nearer.
Away from home especially I’d like Cork back in a 5 man midfield. We’re getting no output from Barnes so we may as well strengthen midfield.

Our crossing needs to improve

It was dreadful all game

We are hitting into areas, but those areas are where we have no players

Arsenal let us get so many unchallenged crosses in, and we wasted every single one of them

Cornet looks a player though, and Barnes needs a break

No, it was fine. I sit in the Bob Lord at that end and I compred it with the distance from the pen spot to the goal, which is 12 yards. Looked spot on to me.
