Didn’t even celebrate. Could see pretty clearly it was offside. Ah well it would have been an undeserved win.

Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
I'd have taken a point before KO, but ditto to the Leeds game it feels like 2 points dropped.
Next week has to be a win now, for some reason, whether it's tactics or mentality we simply can't see games out any more like we used to be able too.

Yeah, would’ve taken it at the start but feels a bit like a loss! I’ll worry about weeds when we hit 38 points.
Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
We're having all the luck of the relegated side bemoaning their luck as relegated sides always do.
A brilliant afternoon at times, but a deflating one ultimately.
It's got to fall our way soon. Let's hope Cornet was just a bit of a pull.

We'd have all happily taken a point before the game. Just hope Cornet injury isn't that bad.

Crackin' game though.
Was Wood offside? Now there's a surprise.
Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
Points shared ... fair result ... pity about Woody's foot offside at the end though
Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
We must find a way to hold on to leads again. We need a shift in mentality.

Vydra was injured.

Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
If Cornet is in the team for 30+ games in the league this season, we will stay up.
Makes a total difference to the team’s feel and how confident the players are playing on the front foot. I would say even having Barnes/Wood up top that would remain true. As good as McNeil can be he can be quite lackadaisical and doesn’t often get the crowd off their seat/change the ‘feel’ of a game with a moment of magic. Thats the type of player Cornet seems from the briefest of time we have been able to watch him.

Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
Fingers crossed Cornet is just a strain which would probably be 3 weeks (just missing Norwich next week).
Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
Not good enough again from Dyche unfortunately. Its been done to death on here about having no plan B but it really is killing us.
In all of the games we have dropped points from winning positions in this season we should have packed out the midfield but he just won't do it.
Dyche is the best thing that's happened to Burnley in my lifetime but this inability to change is worrying. Good game to watch but we didn't deserve the win, would have taken a draw to be honest.

Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
To hold on to a lead you need players in midfield who can hold the ball and pass to each other. Unfortunately we don’t have that. The rest of the team looked much better with Cornet and Vydra, let’s hope they are not seriously injured.

Changing the game implies we avoid facing 20 minutes of all out attack from Leicester as we defend our lead.KefkaClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:54 pmBring Cork instead of Barnes to have more control of the midfield.

Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
Great game. Cornet and Vydra starting was a surprise but they were both class. Taylor doing strange things for both goals and Pope absolutely **** for the second. Why does he feel the need to come out so much. He’s done it a few times now where he needs to stay on his line and vardy has a cross which normally ends up being defended. But no Pope comes running out off his line and leaves vardy with an open goal. Wood offside as usual. I can’t help but think he would be no less effective playing half a years further back. The most frustrating game of the season which has been filled with frustrating games.

It would have helped us defend it better. He has physical strength and tactical awareness of the space in front of back 4 - which barnes doesn't.CombatClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:06 pmChanging the game implies we avoid facing 20 minutes of all out attack from Leicester as we defend our lead.

and if it was ruled out for offside but the review showed him onside we'd hear nothing from the "clear and obvious" lot. For clear and obvious reasons.

Who knows perhaps today could be the day that Dyche's fetish with all things Barnes comes to an end, hindsight is wonderful but most observers could see the midfield needed bolstering.

feels like a brilliant point away at a team that cost a ridiculous amount of money, we are one midfielder and one fast striker away from being comfortable in the PL. First half was superb

Re: Leicester City v Burnley - match thread
really frustrating. The manager should know we aren't exactly looking tight and from 55 mins onwards we were pretty much defending. We've shown we aren't able to hold onto leads this season & that we can't keep possession for long enough to slow games down. Why are we still playing a rigid 4-4-2 when they've got players left, right and centre getting in-between our lines, stretching the play, etc. Pack the bloody midfield, man!! Plug the spaces, it's obvious!
Leicester are a bloody good footballing side with so much movement. We were over-run all the half. The 2 strikers can't even hold it up & even if they did they just lose it coz there's no support!! Clueless again.

Can’t help but feel Vydra is that man. A physical presence in centre midfield would be nice but our team that started can stay up and compete in this league. Problem is, the team the finished probably can’t.
