Mark Robins
What a great job Mark Robins has done at Coventry City. They won last night in front of 20,000 and look serious challengers for promotion. Limited funds and having to share pitches recently, what an achievement if they were to go up.

Re: Mark Robins
It would be great for them after recent years, also would feel a bit nostalgic having Coventry City in the top flight again.

Been a good manager over the years has Robins
Re: Mark Robins
Play exciting football and they will come, play winning football and they will come.
Hopefully they continue with their current fine form, the more teams up there the better, dont want them lot down the road picking up form and challenging in what looks quite a weak league this season.

Re: Mark Robins
Robins will be catching the eye of many clubs due to the sterling job he's doing at Coventry, and their biggest issue might be keeping hole of him.
Glad that a famous club is finally showing a renaissance after all the dark times they've endured in recent seasons.
And anything which helps keep Rovers out of the top 6, or even the automatic promotion places is welcomed by me.

Met him years ago when he was a trainee at Old Trafford. Sound bloke then and has carried it on through his career. Good luck to him.
Re: Mark Robins
Some managers just really suit certain clubs, and I think Coventry and Mark Robins are an example of that.
The job he's done at Coventry is nothing short of outstanding. Promotions from League 2 and then League 1, and now they look to be one of the better sides in the Championship this year. I hope Coventry's fortunes have turned for a while now because they've had a rotten time of it lately. Good club.

Re: Mark Robins
Never met him but once visited his mum and dad as cameraman for ITV (some early magazine show whose name I have forgotten). They lived in a run of the mill estate, nice but nothing flash and the house was like a shrine to their sons success. A really really down to earth, and lovely warm couple who made it a lovely afternoon’s work of hot drinks, biscuits, football chat and pride in their son.RalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 12:10 pmMet him years ago when he was a trainee at Old Trafford. I’d love to see Coventry do their own Burnley and return to the top table.

Saw the episode of Dalziel and Pascoe featuring the Weatherton Wanderers train crash in the week The football bits were filmed at Highfield Road: happy memories!
