Any news on Cornet?

I've missed any post game comments from Dyche. Desperately hope he's OK and it isn't another Brady or Defour situation as we can't afford another one.

He walked off so hopefully just a strain. His career stats suggest he’s not going to be another Brady.

How do you mean? Brady had a good, injury free career and was becoming a very good player for us before, ironically, getting injured at Leicester.

At first I thought ( along with the ref and the Leics team ) he was bluffing for time , he was as came back on . Then pretty much straight to the stands so hopefully was just a twinge . Only gonna miss 1 game I’d imagine

Keep him fit and we will stay up: he is our St Maximin/Zaha

Somebody said he came back on with Vydra to applaud the away fans at full time. I'm sure if it was bad, he'd have been ordered to rest it.

Dyche seemed to think both injuries weren't going to be too bad

I have been into the garden and laid a gift at the feet of my Burnley Gnome. In then proceeded to dance naked in front of the gnome wearing only my claret and blue socks. The gods are pleased and King Max will only miss one game. Incidentally, the next door neighbour's wife looked impressed too. Bonus.

We ought have enough about us to beat Naardge without him and there is no point playing him against City (after all he has only scored four goals against them in the Champions League). If in any doubt I would be giving him a bit of extra time to recover.

That’s the second comment I’ve heard suggesting he could be another injury prone player after one small injury, it wouldn’t ever cross my mind at this point

Especially as Defour had injury problems prior to him coming to Burnley, hence why we got him. This doesn't appear to have been the case with Cornet at Lyon.

Think I'm just too terrified of another Brady situation. We don't seem to get much luck with injuries and I'm thinking way back to Besart Berisha!

The PL is more demanding so I would’nt be that surprised if he picks up the odd minor injury as he gets used to the pace and ‘physicality’

At least there’s an international break after Norwich so he won’t miss many games. If it’s a tweak I’d expect him back after the break.

Especially after playing in midweek. It’s a strange one - because you’d think he has to start in midweek because he won’t start at the weekend. He’s then played really well so starts on Saturday but theres the risk of injury. Fingers crossed he looked alright and walked ok.

I guess we are all pleased that Maxwel Cornet got his first Premier League start today. I wonder if anyone is thinking that a longer period of "getting Dyche fit" was what was required?

Brady suffered a cruciate ligament as you say ironically at Leicester and never recovered. Cornet has tweaked a hamstring so think he’ll be ok. Doesn’t look like he’s missed too many games in his career to date.

Why did the ref book him for being injured?
Is being injured a bookable offence now? Can’t see any ref booking the likes or Ronaldo is he gets injured. Disgusting to book an injured player.

With you.

When I started this thread I had no idea if it was a tweak or a tear (which can lead to a long road back and a succession of other injuries). I couldn't find much information and hadn't seen the game. Thankfully it sounds minor.

Fingers crossed it is minor. Be just our luck if it’s more serious. Looks like he’s going to be a great player for us.

I think this as been discussed before regarding Brady prior to signing him he had injury problems at other clubs think it was hull.

My family were watching near to where it happened. He went down off the pitch and Mee ordered him to get back on the pitch and go down. Thats why Scmeichel demonstrated. Seemed a bit harsh to get a yellow as he was genuinely injured

Came across the pitch at the end to give the Burnley fans a thank you. Seemed to be holding the outside of his thigh rather than either the quad or hamstring. No trainers with him so it can't be too bad.

When he walked over at the end or when he was walking round the pitch?

Did Mee really “ order him back on the pitch “ ?? I thought Mee was nowhere near but very much stand corrected ?

Usually players have ice strapped to their thigh if it's a problem with hamstrings.

don't know where this news about him not being too bad. On the BBC & Clarets+ Dyche confirmed it's too early and they won't know until next week once it's settled down.
But it looks a hamstring

As they don't know how bad it'll be you've got to presume it''ll be a few weeks even for a minor injury as hamstrings do take time to recover.

I'd be incredibly surprised if it's not 4-5 games at least before he's back as these things are not quick healers.

Presume it comes from the way he walked off and walked to the fans. Also dyche said this "It (the fracas) is no big drama, I just think he was trying to play on and thought he could give it a go and realised with a hamstring, they are a bit like that and can play tricks on you and he just thought ‘no’ he can’t carry on. "

So you’d think it’s not too serious but still could take time. With the international break hopefully he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

It’s usually 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. You wouldn’t keep ice on it the whole time. At least that’s what I’ve always been told to do.

Absolutely awful photo that completely ruins or stereotype of a racist club, look at how all out lads having nothing to do with Maxwell and are clearly devastated he's scored!!!

This picture is being saved and next time these Brighton tossers, or anybody else play the racist card, they can take a look!!

Get well soon Maxwell, a firm fan favourite already in your short stint with the Clarets..

When fit and having a good run in the side, I think he will be a revelation. A hell of a finish that had the Sky pundits (Stelling and co.) enthusing about. More to come from Cornet, I'm sure.
