surely Maxwel Cornet should be considered unavailable!!
missing an all important bottom of table Premier League tie...but then considered fit to play 2 consecutive internationals without rest or recuperation!
he should be considered as recovering from injury and not available for international duty!

and then becomes unavailable for the Burnley games following. He's fit, could have played on Saturday at a push, but if he proves unfit it is up to his country to make that decision.

Possibly the case but that will be for their doctors to assess, not Burnley’s.

hamstring strain (at the very least) should respond to initially resting...he may be considered fit to start but first bit of acceleration may result in him being unavailable for further premiership games..(Southampton/Brentford)
I endured Saturday and long for MC to play 90 minutes for the Clarets...not his country!

That's how it is - they have every right to call up their player.

Thank goodness Chris Wood is getting a rest. If anybody needs a break he does

Sorry to correct you CT but John Hollins played for England and his elder brother Dave kept goal for Wales. Their respective birth countries.

Does a player’s club contract include a clause that they MUST play international football if called up by their country?
What if a player doesn’t want to play international football, do they have no choice?

Nothing to do with player's contracts at clubs, a country have the right to call up a player for international duty. Players do have a choice, they can opt to retire from international football. The rules were rightly brought in to stop clubs from withdrawing players when it suited them.

So he will be missing for us on his return? Is that down to where he’s travelling?

No, if fit he'll be available for us on his return. Should be OK for City which is a bonus, Cornet scores against them.

They weren't twins. Unless there's some reference to brothers generally, the article says that the Keanes could be the first twins to play for different countries.

But since we normally concede 5, that won't be enough ...

And I couldn't be corrected because I was just posing a question.

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere, but does anyone know which of our players are on international duty for this break. I presume Gudmundsson, Wood, Vydra, and Cornet, but is there anyone else?

Sounds like BPF had a blinder tonight for 10 man Northern Ireland in their 2-0 loss to Switzerland.
