My e mail was never acknowledged not even an automated one

The club has just emailed out a fairly comprehensive FAQ which probably answers a lot of the questions people have been asking.

Yes, just got this and it answers most questions. As I mentioned in an earlier post, we have a share which is in my late father in laws name.
The faqs covers this and explains that we need to give notice to sell within the agreed time limits and that if any transfer of ownership takes longer that is ok.
One question I now have is how we provide notice to sell?
Does an email suffice or are we supposed to provide notice by letter?
Grateful if anyone could advise.

It’s just an email with name, email address, no of shares and certificate number(s) to the shareholder email address.

Just out of interest, are those still waiting for a response using a BT email address?

Would it be possible to post the contents of this for people who don't get the emails? Or is this strictly private and confidential and not for public viewing?

If the latter, what does it say about how long the club credit lasts, and whether it can be passed on on the death of the recipient?

DSR, the email does still say private and confidential. So not sure what the rules are regarding sharing.
However it does say that any unused credit can be transferred to the estate of the deceased.

With several thousand shareholders receiving the original letter and the faqs, I'd say it's pretty much in the public domain now.

The credit lasts indefinitely and can be passed on should the recipient pass away.

Shouldn't be in the public domain, quite clearly says Private and Confidential on the original letter.

I’m happy to field any questions based on the faq. It does say there is no time limit on the credit and it can be transferred to the owner’s heir or legal beneficiary on their death.

Just a word of warning, should Burnley FC fall into administration, the Administrators would have the power to null and void any vouchers you may hold!

I am still a shareholder and if you folk sell all yours, it will just be me and the board!

I hope they treat me well!

To be fair, if the club falls into administration the first thing to be worth nothing will be all the shares.

No, not yet, although they did acknowledge my e-mail indicating my intention to sell.

At this stage they are just obtaining interest for the sale of shares rather than actioning it straight away.

Must be my mistake then BA, I'll check my letter as I thought it said that a letter would be sent out on the 27th from the company secretary stating the terms of sale.

I can see why we have to enclose our share certificate, but why do we need to also send photographic ID? They don't know what I look like.

I've just received the email and I too don't know why they need photographic ID.

On the payments page, is 'swift code' the same as sort code?

A SWIFT code (or SWIFTBIC, as it's sometimes known) is a code that helps overseas banks identify which bank to send money to. For example, if an overseas bank is sending to a payment to your Barclays UK account, they'll need to know our SWIFT code: BUKBGB22.

No idea about the photo ID requirement.

All feels a bit rushed to me, unlike the initial, very clear communication.
Still, should be a nice surprise to get just before Christmas...now to think about what to do with my club credit...

Forgive my ignorance on these matters jos (do they assume we're all accountants and solicitors?), but is that swift code for all UK banks?
As it happens I do bank with Barclays so should I use that code BUKBGB22?

Borrow one, go to the library, use a friend's.
It's for a minimum of £850, you could buy one for less than £50.

I’m not in work. Can you let me have £50 so I can buy a printer.

I'm not a shareholder - and not seen the form.

I'd guess that the photo ID is intended to confirm that the shares are being bought from the rightful owner of the shares and not just someone who claims to be that person. Does it specify what can be photo ID? Passport, driving license (but not old paper one w/out photo), maybe something else which is official and has photo on it?

Again, I'm guessing, I'd expect witness of the shareholder's signature must be someone independent of shareholder - so, not a member of the family. Name, address, profession, therefore will identify the person signing as witness. Again, protects against paying money to someone who isn't the rightful owner.

If anyone doesn't have their own printer it used to be possible, for a small fee, to use a printer in a library or (some) newsagents and, perhaps, a photo store. Maybe there are still internet cafes around, somewhere...

When they sent the original email out, a letter was received the following day. Hopefully this will be the same again

Update on that - just been online with Barclays and it says the swift code starts BUKB and not BARC.

No letter received btw

Does anyone know is the witness can be just anyone? Can I get the missus to sign mine for example? (although telling her I have £850 coming may be a mistake!)
