Help needed mobile phone

Post by Colburn_Claret » Thu Oct 07, 2021 6:55 am

I'm hoping some techy out there can help me.
I set my alarm to get up on a morning on my mobile. I get up at 4.00, but every morning I get a mini alarm/notification sound goes off at 3.30. Who needs a reminder that you have to get up in half an hour.

I've tried everything silencing all notifications, silencing the alarm app notifications. I've been in the app settings, the phone settings. I've given up. It's been ongoing for over 6 months and nothing works. I've googled the problem on the net but had no joy there either.
You are my last hope guys, if anyone can solve this they'd make a fellow Claret very happy.

Set your alarm for 4.30 so you get the reminder at 4.00 to get up 8-)

Look in the clock app for a setting, if you can't find one just download a different clock app that won't do it like Google clock.

In the clock app, there's a night time mode where the alarms are. Turn that off and you should be ok.

I have had samsung phones (not the S20 though I currently use an S9plus) for years and not experienced this problem using "Alarm" in the clock app ... I do get alerts for events I set in the calendar in the calendar but you can stop those by setting it to "At time of event" if you prefer to use the calendar for reminding you of stuff....

Hope you get it sorted

What app are you using for your alarm?

If it's the notification that's bugging you I'd say put your phone on silent overnight - the alarm should still sound.

If silent isn't practical, go into your notification settings for that specific app and silence notifications for it. That shouldn't stop the alarm but should silence the notifications.

Test obviously and don't blame me if you're late for work 😂

I'd tried all those but it still went off.
I have found, despite being in it loads of times, one of the notifications in the clock app was 'up coming alarms', logically that sounds like it might be the problem. It was on, so I've turned it off. Just have to test it now.

I will let everyone know if it's sorted, cheers

Usually the clock app is preinstalled by the manufacturer I’d check to see if it needs updating to eliminate any bugs & even delete the app (if it allows you) & reinstall & if that doesn’t work try using a free third party clock app.

I have the same phone and used to have the same problem. As per my earlier message does your alarm part of the clock app look like this ?

It does CTID.
I'm hoping I've solved it.
I opened the app settings for the clock, and there was a toggle in notifications for up coming alarms, I'd been in it lots of times and somehow missed it. Anyway it is now turned off hopefully 3.30 reminders will be a thing of the past.

p.s. I didn't find a nighttime mode though.
