Pope 6
Lowton 7
Collins 8*
Tarkowski 7
Pieters 6
McNeil 7
Cork 5
Brownhill 5
Westwood 5
Cornet 6
Wood 4

Barnes 5
JBG 6

To sum up, you have to take your chances against teams of this calibre, as we aren't likely to get that many. The second goal was an awful one to concede, with first Cork and then Westwood (I think) culpable.

Ah well... at least it wasn't the usual 5-0! Onwards and upwards!

Still need to work at creating more chances and we need to start taking more chances too. We're very close to "clicking" yet until the points start coming in we're as far away as we are if we were playing useless and getting thrashed each week.

Pope 7 much more assured today
Lowton 6 tough gig but kept it tight
Collins 8*MOM cool and assured ,move aside Mee
Tarkowski 7 Usual very solid show
Pieters 6- tough 1st half stuck to it well
McNeil 6 couple of nice take downs 2nd half
Cork 6 great interception to create chance
Brownhill 5 huffed and puffed
Westwood 5 silly dive when losing control and 2-0
Cornet 6- lively and decent effort
Wood 5-No confidence though hit bar late

Barnes 4 -Wrecking his legacy, should have put polish on his boots not his barnet.
JBG 5- one chance but unable to influence
JR-N/A

We were decent at times and had chances . Collins excellent and 5 man mid was ok .They were clinical .

I’m assuming those given Cornet as high as 7 and those giving Wood 4 or 5 weren’t actually there today.

Pope 7 The odd kick aside, bit like the Nick we know today.
Lowton 7 Sticks.
Collins 9 ** Impressive game. Happening big for him just now.
Tarks 8. V good game. Organised stuff at the back well.
Pieters 7 Tough ask for him today. Did really well. He's been an excellent signing

Brownhill 7
Westwood 6
Cork 6
McNeil 6

Cornet 7. Been a while since we've had someone with pace who is so comfortable on the ball, as well as a bit of vision.
Shame he went off early but, understand why.
Wood 6 Doesn't seem in the best of places just now. They will start going in again soon though.

JBG 6
Barnes 6

We didn't get stuffed.
Once more, we've taken on one of the best and, most expensive sides on the planet and, given them a game.
Let's hope the wins will start to follow what have been some good performances so far, this season.

This was an excellent performance without the ball and could have had a positive outcome in points terms.

I thought the whole team played like one and the 2 centre backs were exceptional.

Tarkowski gave an immaculate display both defensively and by spraying accurate long passes. None better anywhere today.

Or they might just disagree with you.

Not a great start for Wood is it. It shouldn’t be just about him of course, but we do rather rely on him for goals don’t we?

I think we will be able to call it after ten games, but it is looking like a Sheff Utd style relegation

Go on Tony enlighten us? Cornet goes off for Barnes and the game changes. We had no out ball at all. It’s time Barnes was put out to graze but sadly under this manager Barnes will be here till the lights go out

No you didn’t. In my opinion if I mark a player a 5 then they deserved to be hooked.

Do you think the substitute made at the time was the sub to be made?

Did not go but great that Collins has played well in his first two games. Would really love to see him start v Saints even if Mee is fit. Not a lot to get excited about so far, but I think this guy will grow in stature in games to come. Hopefully Roberts is next to get introduced

Pope 6 thought he should have done better with the 1st
Lowton 6 great back up, Roberts needs a chance
Tarks 7 very good but against no real forward
Collins 8 really impressed me again, looks a player
Pieters 6 OK
Brownhill 6 ok
Westwood 6
Mc neil 6 still struggling to find form
Cornet 7 looked bright, a few nearlys, wrong foot for the 1v1
Wood 5 glaring miss, looks tired and no confidence
Cork 5 today's performance shows why he's the one missing out

Today was a free hit, and to be honest I was happy to get out of Today with that result with years gone by.
Our big 2 games are the next one, and we seriously need 3 points in them.
The team looks a little flat, and we look lost in the final 3rd, and we seem to be conceding soft goals.

Hopefully we start playing our best 11, and a few points arrive sooner rather than later

I wouldn’t go quite as far as you, but agreed in principle.
It was the sort of game that had we had the 7 to 11 points on the board, going into the game, that we should have had, then we’d have plaudits, unfortunately we’re getting ourselves into a position where we’re going to need to take points off the top clubs rather than be content with just a good performance.
Fr me, I tried to look at the game in isolation, and we were good, their goals were scrappy and we had chances.
Problem is we are giving away our goals and not taking out chances.
We gave it a good go though.

Just saw highlights on Sky and was impressed with lots of aspects of how we played and although as always a few disagreements on performance and hence marks varying somewhat it is great to see that they are relatively high across the team.

Pope 6 thought he had a good game but was slightly disappointed with the first goal.

Lowton 7
Collins 8 looked much better. His highlight for me was a charging run forward on the 13th minute. Top defenders do that for big clubs, suggest he might have that in his locker.
Tarks 7 looked good
Pieters 6 poor first half better second
Cork 7 I thought he organised the midfield excellently
Westwood 5
Brownhill 6
McNeil 7 best pass I have seen from a Burnley player
Cornet 7 let’s hope he gets fully fit and can last 90, looks a top player
Wood 5 really disappointed with woody this season. Just looks really low on confidence right now.
