To be honest I used to enjoy watching the host on his numerous shows, of late I've found he’s been getting on my wires so I try to avoid whatever he’s on, quiz shows and all.

Bradley Walsh certainly seems to be hogging the telly at the moment.

Thought this was some sort of reference to our prowess in front of goal until I read the posts.

I used to like it. I think the best one was Les Dawson.

I gave the first episode a go but it's all too fake and scripted for me. I like the idea that it's openly making fun of itself and the BBC's notorious reputation for poor prizes though.
As mentioned above. Was at it's best when Les Dawson presented it.

Because Les Dawson was funny. Wasn’t bad with Lily Savage either.

Agree both the above were good. Whenever the shows mentioned I always think of Terry Wogan, loved everything he did.

Think Bradley Walsh is making hey while the sun shines. Think he’ll settle in and make a decent show. Not many comedians would have the nuts to follow Les Dawson and David Jason at the same time. He did the spade work, it didn’t happen overnight.. good luck to him, hope they improve.

I don’t know how you can watch that sort of stuff, it’s awful. I caught some of Family Fortunes with Gino de Campo the other week. I could only tolerate about 3 minutes of it. It’s moronic.

Sadly, not a lot left worth watching on mainstream telly…. There is obviously a serious lack of talent out there when we have TV chefs presenting other programmes. Programmes like I’m a celebrity don’t help either…. Personalities that have naturally fallen away are regurgitated by simply allowing themselves to be humiliated. They know as soon as they sign up to eat the bugs they are getting a second bite of the cherry. It’s all just a bit sad.

As far as the op is concerned, Les Dawson made what was a bland and boring format into an absolute success, because he KNEW it was dire, and never failed to poke fun at it. A very very funny man who is sadly missed.

Blankety Blank was rubbish in the 80's and its rubbish now. The difference is that in the 80's you had 4 TV channels and nowhere near the level of choice of entertainment so in the context of what it was competing against and peoples expectations it seemed good.

Of course mainstream TV is on its arse because nowadays at the press of a button you can pretty much watch what you want when you want. BBC still tends to do some good series and Ch4 tends to have some decent programs but even then how many people watch them live and dont just use catch up

Still on a clear day with no clouds in the sky it gives Bob and his ilk something to shout and wave their fists at
