Just a heads up for anyone travelling to the turf tonight. There are roadworks at the bottom of the new road at the junction with Todmorden Road causing quite long tailbacks. No idea how long they are there for but lm guessing they're linked to the ongoing ones through Cliviger.

The 4 way lights appeared during the day yesterday. Burnley to Todmorden through Cliviger has been a nightmare for 2-3 different sets of temp lights for atleast 6 months on and off, never ends :(

Temp lights are there until 18th November. The 3 way lights at the end of red lees road and the other lights that are outside the petrol station in Cliviger are there until 23rd December.

Seems to be never ending around here in the last couple of years.

Absolutely shambolic the distance between these lights. Driving home yesterday around 5:40 the queue were nearly down to the spar on Todmorden road

Nothing actually dug up yesterday, so no need for the FOUR way lights to be used yesterday, which was a match day. In the days when the local council was responsible for roads and traffic this would never have been allowed. Utilities etc can be told how to control traffic by law, including working times and days. It appears that the Highway Authority (LCC) don't police anymore. Indeed are often the worst offenders, like on Manchester Road recently. If you are not happy speak to your county councillor.

If they're on a timer then l would suggest it's way out! If they are as bad as yesterday on Saturday it will be gridlock after the match.

The temp lights need police control on matchdays.
That's another good thing that seems to have been dumped for so called progress.

Something to do with the new housing development on Red Lees Rd I believe.

Those travelling in along Tod Road need to factor in these roadworks.

Could be lots of folk late in for tomorrow's game :(

I think after the match could be the bigger problem. The lights are a bottleneck at the best of times and can be queued back to Towneley gates post match. As someone has posted above, if these were manually controlled the traffic could be cleared much quicker.

Having been through them I'd suggest anyone travelling from Yarkshire sets off now if they want to see the kick off
