Who would you...?
If you could only bring in one player, at a realistic fee in the January transfer window, who would it be?
Personally- I’d go for Jesse Lingard on a permanent up to £16m. Jesse would be great in our system, we need an attacking midfielder, and I believe Manchester United might be more keen to do business with us rather than West Ham as we are not direct UCL potential rivals.
Maybe that’s not realistic but many thought Cornet wasn’t realistic but here he is.
I’d also love to see us go in for Daryl Dike if Jesse didn’t work out.
If I had to take a loan- Ross Barkley.
What about you???

Phillips from Liverpool but it's looking like this season he's going to be out of our price range. Wouldn't mind Keane back too.

Re: Who would you...?
I suspect given our current League position that any permanent signings will be very difficult both in terms of committing finance and attracting players. Dyche doesn't play loanee's historically so unless we pick up a considerable amount of wins before January I'd be surprised if we actually signed anyone..........then we have to try and keep hold of Tarks.
Lingaard would be a minimum of 50k per week above what we pay so I'd say zero chance unless he fancies a local loan.
As for who I'd go for, obviously a midfielder but no idea who tbh

Re: Who would you...?
John Swift would be realistic. Perhaps less realistic although interest in him seems to have cooled considerably...Sander Berge.

Re: Who would you...?
If Tarks leaves it would need to be a reserve for Collins - unless Thomas is deemed suitable. Long will still be a reserve.
If Tarks doesn't leave, a hard working creative midfielder.

Should be accompanied with a 2nd question.
If they'd come?

Should have put Normann at Norwich who is on loan (before one of the pedants chirps in)

Ludovic Blas from Nantes. Love the way he plays with the ball at his feet and would be a great attacking option.
Re: Who would you...?
Lingard is 28 and apparently there were 6 clubs after him in the summer. Both of these things make me think that he's going to be over-priced and not an asset that will appreciate with time.
I'd hope that we would continue to look for players who have gone under the radar like Cornet.

Re: Who would you...?
A return for Keane wouldn’t surprise me. He seems to be blowing hot and cold at Everton and can see him being surplus in the not too distant future.
James Milner if fit might be an option for a loan (presumably ahead of him leaving Anfield in the summer) as an experienced pair of hands who could potentially put a little grit into midfield for the remainder of the season.
Just a couple of safe hands that might welcome a spell at the Turf, away from the clamour that younger players will get.

Re: Who would you...?
I read he had a bust up with Farke and had attitude problems. Seems like it would be a tall order for Dyche. If anyone could handle him it’d be Dyche.
Personally would love to see him and Dwight play together.

Re: Who would you...?
I’d look at Jason Knight (Derby)- he’s fit again, we’ve been interested in the past apparently and he’s 20/21 so plenty of time for him to develop. He also knows and has played international football alongside Nathan Collins so perhaps we can use that link.

Knight and Sibley would be a decent catch from Derby. They do sound like a firm of solicitors to be honest.

Re: Who would you...?
No chance we get Lingard. There are probably 10 other clubs in the league where he would end up before us.WiscoClaret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 4:51 amIf you could only bring in one player, at a realistic fee in the January transfer window, who would it be?

For CM is the crucial position this window so I would go for Doucoure in Ligue 1, reminds me of Bissouma I think he would be a perfect fit.
Possibly Knight from Derby or massengo from Bristol could be cheaper more realistic targets

Re: Who would you...?
A commanding central midfielder.
And if Tarks goes, another CB
We'd be fine then

Keane Lewis-Potter: My reasons for this is, although I don’t think he’s quite ready for Premier League football just yet, I strongly believe he is one of the next big things in the Football League. I was shouting the same for Bowen, too, a few years ago, so I’ll bang this drum now

Re: Who would you...?
could we perhaps tempt Robbie Blake back from Bognor?
Re: Who would you...?
He's really highly rated by the Norwich fans. Rather like skipp was last year, but a division higher.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 9:08 amShould have put Normann at Norwich who is on loan (before one of the pedants chirps in)
