Their value doesn’t suddenly disappear - they could still be sold on if we were relegated (potentially for more than we paid).jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 10:15 pmSpending money on fees concerns me due to the odds now stacked against us for relegation. I’d far prefer GOOD loans.
Ramsey on loan for the season would be, frankly, unbelievable business. That’s about as good a signing as I think I’d ever expect come in to Burnley. I would be stunned if he was willing to come, but if he has no other options this is a great shop window opportunity for him till the summer?
I’d put good money on Newcastle now calling Juventus though as a result of this newspaper article.
Maybe Hennessey and Roberts have cooked him an omelette.
My apologies.....shouldn't of said that
It’s a fair comment I’m sure he will take it in jest
Yep. Which club wants to be the one the one that is responsible for another episode like that?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 6:21 ama few papers reporting Christian Eriksen has agreed to sign for Brentford - staggering signing if true
Wow, uptheclarets player of the year, 3 years in a row, but the fans want rid now after 2 poor games! If that’s not fickle I don’t know what is.
I think the next centre half we bring in will be Ben Mee’s replacement. Collins is surely going to be starting next season. He’s been very unlucky to be dropped every time he’s stepped in this season.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:31 amTarks has been one of our top defenders
We should have had Joe Worrall or Nat Phillips signed up 3 weeks ago then selling Tarks would have been a sensible idea,
Again our legendary faffing during transfer window time had left us dealing with Last minute solutions.
Tarkowski may have refused to leave in January.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:31 amTarks has been one of our top defenders

I’ll reserve those judgements for when the window is closed.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:49 amLet's get some semblance of reality back into this topic
We are bottom of the league, one win all season and playing dire football
We can put in bids for whoever we want - why not bid for Messi ?
The fact remains that despite numerous rumours (and that is all they are) nobody, as yet, seems to fancy coming to play for BFC and Sean
If we can't get the likes of Andy Carroll to come to us what chance with any others
Word is that the Saudi's have offered Carroll a two year deal - not to sign for us and just stay at home
If we can't get in some loans in the next few days it's going to be a struggle to even get off the bottom
Given Carroll’s allegiance to Newcastle I don’t think he’d want to be seen as someone who potentially relegated themjojomk1 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:49 amLet's get some semblance of reality back into this topic

I absolutely agree with this. I thought he’d been medically advised on more than one occasion, not to play professionally again.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 7:18 amYep. Which club wants to be the one the one that is responsible for another episode like that?
I can’t believe there aren’t serious concerns about his health. If there weren’t, he wouldn’t be signing for Brentford.
2 goals in 8 games pretty prolific compared to our own strikers!Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 9:01 amAlso re Carroll he scored 1 goal in a struggling Championship team and his erratic disciplinary record makes poor reading.
Thinking exactly the sameHedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:56 amGiven Carroll’s allegiance to Newcastle I don’t think he’d want to be seen as someone who potentially relegated them
I’d imagine agents tell their players to hang on as long as possible to see what offers come in. Transfers are a two way process. You can’t just blame the club.
Have you considered these few factors before?
Clubs and agents holding out for bigger offers/wages.
Can you share then please, because I’m not privy to how the club do business.
He's the reason we're going down if we sell him or not.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:21 amWow, uptheclarets player of the year, 3 years in a row, but the fans want rid now after 2 poor games! If that’s not fickle I don’t know what is.
I’d argue he’s the reason we have stayed up for so long
