Just searched for Brad Jones. His intros makes him sound like an insider his linkdin says “student”. Take with a Pinch of salt me thinks.

apologies if already posted:
Bild, Germanys’ best selling newspaper, now bring an update on the situation.
According to their report on Sunday evening, ‘everyone involved has reached a final agreement’, and the Dutchman will now become a Burnley player. There’s nothing left to be agreed, with transfer fee and personal terms all sorted.
The transfer fee is put at £12m, around €14.5m, and it’s stated a further €2m bonus will be payable to the Bundesliga club should Burnley avoid relegation to the Championship this season.
Bild explain there was a time when the Dutch striker imagined himself moving to one of the top six clubs in the Premier League, however, the chance never came and that’s seen him accept a move to Burnley.

As opposed to what? Listening to posters 'in the know' saying Orsic was a done deal or that "we needn't worry"...ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 10:23 pmFor Christ’s sake, is this what this message board has been reduced to, posting tweets from some bloke with 18 followers who signed up tonight?
Deals can change and anyone can be in the know or not, no one had a go at you when the Orsic deal fell through and rightly so, the rug was pulled from under the club and yourself, judging by your comments you thought it was a done deal. But let's not pretend you have the right to comment on rumours and someone else doesn't. Not trying to have a pop but there's no need to have a go at someone posting a rumour on a rumours thread, no matter how thin it is.
Cut people some slack.

It literally is a rumours thread. I am sure a tweet about a player we are RUMOURED to be interested in, regardless of perceived validity fits the criteria required.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 10:23 pmFor Christ’s sake, is this what this message board has been reduced to, posting tweets from some bloke with 18 followers who signed up tonight?

It does get a bit silly when obvious false stories come up and then escalate into 3 pages of nonsense

The trouble with this window is most player's will look at Burnley and our league position and think championship football next season and no thanks, Newcastle have spent almost 100 million so far and will climb out of the bottom 3 even if its by the skin of their teeth, that then leaves us Watford and Norwich down, even if one of us 3 goes on a run can you see Everton, Leeds or Brentford dropping into the bottom three for one of us to replace I honestly can't.

The difference being that CT clearly has good sources within the club and was commenting on players that we were in advanced talks with. Compared to some random bloke with absolutely no credibility linking us with a player no one has ever heard of. Some people really will believe anything they read.Conroy92 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 10:37 pmAs opposed to what? yeah but if a rumour comes from someone on twitter with next to no followers and no history it's never in a million years going to be accurate. There has to be some accountability of where the info comes from surely ?Conroy92 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 10:37 pmAs opposed to what? I don't know why anyone gets too f***ing bothered about a Burnley transfer thread anyway.
It's basically a load of folk talking shite, and we're hardly likely to ever do a considerable amount of business anyway.

After the Orsic deal being pulled at the last minute, we just need to try and ignore the rumours that are going to be flying around tomorrow then debate on Tuesday morning if it has been a good window or not but we can all agree the club/chairman cannot be blamed for lack of trying.

We have seen plenty of links in this thread that are based around rumours that start somewhere. Yes, most come to nothing, but how many of us believed the Cornet rumour at first?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 10:46 pmyeah but if a rumour comes from someone on twitter with next to no followers and no history it's never in a million years going to be accurate. Let's not bother posting links at all unless it's only from a confirmed source, which even then have been wrong plenty of times.
I don't really know what else the point of this thread is, at least some rumours are better than the endless bickering about team selection and the management and hierarchy of the club.

I can see us lining up something like this against Watford;
—————————Pope
Roberts —Tarks—Mee—Taylor
——————Hayden—-Endo
McNeil———————————Cornet
—————Weghorst—Origi
I’d start Ramsey and Orsic on the bench and bring them on with 20-25 mins to go in the unlikely event that we need a goal.

I know Wayne Rooney has said that any transfers would have to be approved by him and not their administrators but due to the size of their debt that would be ridiculous and against the best interests of the club and the people they owe money to. So I don't understand why this is being allowed shouldn't we bid for Jason Knight and Tom Lawrence I would have thought the administrators would be duty bound to raise cash by accepting the highest or an acceptable bid. I thought they had a responsibility to dispose of assets i.e players to raise cash to reduce the debts. Perhaps someone on here knows what the rules are and can advise if this is true.

You poor naive person. It's a business so, unless you know the finer details, you haven't a clue. Some simple idiots still think we have have £100m+ a year to spend on player transfers and, tbf, I think you might be one of those.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 9:39 pmWe just got 27m for wood

If we don’t sign the RM we desperately need I’d be happier with Roberts teaming up with Lowton, at RB, down that side. He has great energy, when I’ve seen him for Wales he gets in the box and the bonus of his long throw if we can learn to use it.

The gang of 5 will never appreciate that you can’t force a club to sell and you can’t force a player to sign. It’s all very simple really but it goes straight over their heads.

Ramsey is a level above the midfielders we have seen at Burnley since Dobbo with the possible exception of Defour. Will be more than impressed if we get him.
