Leeds away General info

Sorry if I have missed it, I tried searching but the search engine refuses to search the word Leeds. Not sure if it's too common a word or just doesn't like dirty Leeds?

With the trains stopping at Bradford and replacement buses in action.
What's the best way to get to the ground?
Searching normal bus routes from Bradford to Elland Rd to save 2 journeys, seems to just go to Leeds centre before changing anyhow and looks around 30 quid in a taxi from Bradford to the Ground.

Tempted to go on this route and then taxi to city centre from Kirkstall Forge.

Might be worth looking into getting the bus to Keighley and then train on that line if that's what you want to do.

Might be combined travel passes for the day?

Cheees. I’ve looked at x43 to Skipton but first bus from Burnley is after 9am with it being a Sunday. I’m in Cliviger so getting to Tod is fairly easy. Only slightly above £7 return with railcard is the journey above.

Why not just get on the replacement bus?

Just don’t fancy the unpredictability of traffic, waiting around etc.

Just looking for a better option than having to get one train and two buses to the ground.

Fair enough. Just seems like the easiest option I would have thought. Particularly as replacement buses are direct.

Fair enough. Simple walk from the station to the ground though.

Just presuming replacement buses would be direct by the way. Not certain if that’s the case.

hi...If you are getting the train to Bradford Interchange ( a la Burnmark ) I wouldn't bother walking across Bradford to Forster Square to get to Kirkstall Forge... I'd just get the direct train to Leeds ( via Pudsey ...takes about15 - 20 minutes ) there's one at 9.54 and another at 10.15 .Alternatively get the fast bus to Leeds Bus station . Either way...Taxi , walk or bus to Elland Road .

Anybody driving .Park for free in morrisons car park in the centre of Morley .Get the 51 , 52 or 53 bus opposite the Town Hall ( 1 minute walk )..get off outside the ground .

2pm kick offs on Sundays are a pain in the backside if you have to travel. Trains are a no go most Sundays with rail replacement buses and cancelled trains. Getting up to Burnley tomorrow on the train is a challenge in itself. Perhaps it is better to not have a beer and drive to Leeds for those with cars?

Your suggestion involves as many trains and buses as his original plan.

Big Redrose once walked to Todmorden. It isn’t that much further to Leeds.

Some cracking ale houses on route

Bloody hell, that would definitely involve a few “comfort” stops!

Usually flooded over that way this time of year so doubt they will notice if you top them up a little

You can get the train as far as Kirkstall Forge. It's only a few miles outside of Leeds.
