Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had any knowledge of/advice r.e. HETAS certificates for multi burners?

We are looking to rent out our property which has a multi burner but no certificate of installation. Does anyone know if you can get an exiting fire checked and signed of by a HETAS registered installer or will it need a complete re-install?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

UTC!

Give 'Mr Flue' a call. He's based at Pilsworth industrial estate and happens to be a massive Claret. I reckon he'll be more than happy to advise you.

More important than the compliance of the stove is the fuel type. The regs about Smokeless Zones still apply and there's a fairly limited list of specified fuels, which tend to be expensive. Don't think you can remain legal and burn all types of "firewood", off-cuts, scrap, pallets, etc. Also woods treated, varnished or "manufactured", are banned and in many cases carcinogenic, not just polluting, when burned.
