Well, my 17 year unbroken streak of not missing a home league game comes to an end today, as I'm waiting for the result of a PCR test

Well done. Yes very impressive. I couldn't imagine not finding or having the offer of something better to do once over that time.

The last home game I missed was v Norwich 1972, while in hospital. On the morning of the game I'd an injection into my eyeball. I asked the Doctor to release me, so I could go on the game, but he refused. I soon realised why, when I went into delayed shock. The home game before that, I missed was 1963.

Delayed shock is normal for Burnley fans!

The reason I missed the Shef Utd 1963 game, was to help out St Mary's Old Boys. They hadn't enough players and my old Headmaster asked me to play. The school was good to me, so I returned the favour. It broke my heart playing Towneley and hearing the crowd roaring, not knowing what was happening. I can't remember missing a game before that since I first went on, for the famous Utd cup tie. I've missed 2 cup ties in that time.
I tell people, "they won't kick off until they see I'm on".
