Not a suggestion that we should sign him.
But the Newport striker who has now scored 14 goals in 13 games, and been awarded with Legaue two player of the month award for both october and november. Apparently he was born in Burnley and grew up in Clitheroe.
Anyone know anything about him ?

This is true, he is mates with 1 of the lads we used to play 5 a side with, so we played football with him a couple of times just before he moved to Stoke from Blackpool, but he was only in his late teens then.
Was 1 hell of a player then and could certainly strike a ball.
Always nice to see his name popping up on the goals channels and in the news.
Strangely he wasn't the only young local lad who was professional who had a few games with us, there was another lad who played for Oldham.
He also came and played with us during the summer too, but his name escapes me, again it'd have been a good few years ago

Yep same here, did you used to play with Owen Coyle Junior by any chance?

Jack Truelove was the latter player, also a Burnley lad, think he's knocking about in the local national leagues now though after leaving Oldham

I'm not sure, I've played for, with and against a few people in Burnley.
It's no coincidence Dom and Jay Rod have both scored into me, and gone on to have decent careers scoring goals.
As an old coach once said, if you can score past him, you can score passed anyone

He went to school with Jack Truelove, they were in the same year as my brother, they all played in the cup final at the Reebok, Truelove didn't stand out to me. Think he was a left footed centre half then. My brother is still very good mates with Owen and still plays with him at his house i believe

Yep they have a 3G pitch at the back of their house and quite a lot of decent players play there. He's a good lad is Owen and his dad has joined in occasionally and he's still got it to be fair.

Dom was a great goalscorer for the Lancashire Schools' Football Association Under 16 Boys team which won the ESFA Trophy at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry in 2013 !!
Round 1: Bye
Round 2: Lancashire 3 North Yorkshire 0 (goalscorers unknown but probably inlcuded Telford!!)
Round 3: Durham 0 Lancashire 3 (Telford 1)
Round 4: Lancashire 8 Cheshire 0 (Telford 5)
Semi-Final: Kent 1 Lancashire 2 (Telford 1)
Final: Lancashire 2 Greater Manchester 2 (Telford 1)
Lancashire won 5-3 on penalties including one from Telford !
A great lad and a great family !!
Incidentally the 5th. Lancashire penalty in the final was scored by Sam Lavelle, the former Morecambe Captain transferred to Charlton Athletic at the start of this season. Sam's father Ben was the Team Manager !!

Don’t know much about him but he’s scored another 2 today, currently the top scorer in League 2 and only 25 years old ?
Worth a gamble ? Just been watching some of his goals he scores all types of goals and lots of worldies.

The next time you have someone new play for your 5-a-side team can we give them trials at Burnley.

My 15 year old has now been playing with us and has come on leaps and bounds, sadly he had 4 years out of the game to play cricket after his old team fell apart when most of the team went to academies, so is probably way behind the curve to catch up now.

Dominic Telford scored against us last night. The Captain of the Lancashire SFA Under 16 Boys' who won the ESFA Trophy in 2013, Sam Lavelle, also played for Charlton who won on penalties last night.

Didn't realise he was born in Burnley. Bet it was a dream come true to score last night. Was a good goal from his point of view tbh

He's a Newcastle fan - his dad is from up there.

He said he would score last last night and give us a shh! instead he pointed up at the Longside, enjoying every moment.
Dom is most definitely a Newcastle fan after his Dad and never been a fan of the other lot CC mentioned.
