Any reason we couldn’t play Liverpool on Boxing Day instead of the 13th Feb? Both clubs fit to play, could free up a Saturday for other fixtures to be slotted in.

That might make some sense,so no way it's going to happen

Scheduling a game at two days’ notice would be tremendously anti-away fans.

We have an outstanding fixture against them, both games cancelled days in advance.

Many reasons not least that match is a huge logistical operation, with police, staffing and ticketing to organise. Then on the playing side a lot goes in to preparing for each team, so it’d be far from ideal making that change so late in the day.

It could have been a closed doors game, although annoying for fans would have dealt with most of the logistical issues.

Just impossible to organise something like that
