No idea but given Sours played in the EFL Cup only a few days ago they should be able to play, so unless there's a problem at Palace's end I don't see any reason why it shouldn't go ahead.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 8:27 pmDoing the rounds on Twitter this game is now postponed
Apparently a number of the Palace back room staff have tested positive. I can only assume a large majority of the squad must not be vaccinated for this to be postponedtiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 10:06 pmNo idea but given Sours played in the EFL Cup only a few days ago they should be able to play, so unless there's a problem at Palace's end I don't see any reason why it shouldn't go ahead.
However given how quickly fixtures are falling by the wayside nothing would surprise me anymore.

Daily mail etc… now saying it looks like it is off.
What has their vaccination status go to do with it? We know you can still catch covid having been vaccinated, so surely this isn’t the issue.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 10:09 pmApparently a number of the Palace back room staff have tested positive. Different isolation rules for unvaccinated. Vaccinated close contacts don't have to isolate, unvaccinated close contacts do. A number of clubs, like Watford, simply don't care about following covid guidelines because it's easier just to call a game off rather than follow some fairly simple rules.
What constitutes a 'close contact'?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 7:50 amBecause if they are unvaccinated they have to isolate if a close contact
No idea what palaces policy is, however I believe most places have embraced the 2m rule. If you have spent time within 2m of the contact you are classed as close contact.
That many people are getting it do you really think people are following the rules or even give a sh1t I don’t.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 8:24 amNo idea what palaces policy is, however I believe most places have embraced the 2m rule. I don’t think people are following the rules but I suspect that is why Palace have asked for the game to called off. Too many players now having to isolateJakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 8:27 amThat many people are getting it do you really think people are following the rules or even give a sh1t I don’t.
It’s meant to be less severe than the other variants people are going to get it anyway we need to all crack on with our life’s & act normal & accept the vast majority of the people are going to have the symptoms of a common cold.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 8:46 amI don’t think people are following the rules but I suspect that is why Palace have asked for the game to called off. It’s not me that’s makes the rules haha. Shame they didn’t get tough with Everton then? If it was the other way round and Spurs were in the position Palace are in would the game still be played?
The PL will be looking at all applications for postponements on a case to case basis & palace haven’t passed the threshold required for the postponement to be granted. Everything will be based on some sort of criterion if we or anybody have insufficient numbers ours will be postponed as others will be, palace probably have enough numbers it’s extremely laughable to think that some sort of a conspiracy agenda is taking place.
Do you really think Everton suddenly picked up a few more injuries in the space of 24 hours and genuinely couldn't field a team all of a sudden?Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 12:54 pmThe PL will be looking at all applications for postponements on a case to case basis & palace haven’t passed the threshold required for the postponement to be granted. It’s possible that some could have had or more cases of covid were detected or more cases of isolation, the application had merit to be approved otherwise everybody would be trying it on.
But the game got postponed due to additional injuries, not covid cases. There is no way on earth that a calf injury can be disproved, for example, if the player says it's sore.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:02 pmIt’s possible that some could have had or more cases of covid were detected or more cases of isolation, the application had merit to be approved otherwise everybody would be trying it on.
That was the reason that got stated yes but like I’ve already stated repeatedly if you’ve got an high number of covid cases it wouldn’t take many injuries in addition to tip the balance, people are mistakenly viewing covid & injuries as separate entities the PL are viewing them as combined, palace have mcarthur & Ferguson injured only & less covid cases than Everton did & less injuries, it’s a combined figure that’s being assessed not covid only or injuries only.Spijed wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:05 pmBut the game got postponed due to additional injuries, not covid cases. Postponed because of further injuries?! Setting a dangerous precedent this.

Everton had 15 fit outfield players (6 of whom Benitez didn't consider worth a place in the team, hence his claim of 9) when the first appeal for postponement was made. 5 had covid, 6 were injured, they have used 26 outfield players this season in the league. With their further "injuries", they are down to 13 or less.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:11 pmThat was the reason that got stated yes but like I’ve already stated repeatedly if you’ve got an high number of covid cases it wouldn’t take many injuries in addition to tip the balance, people are mistakenly viewing covid & injuries as separate entities the PL are viewing them as combined, palace have mcarthur & Ferguson injured only & less covid cases than Everton did & less injuries, it’s a combined figure that’s being assessed not covid only or injuries only.
If our application is approved based on merit then yes we can, I don’t know the criteria which would need to meet that though, lots of variables are in place & like for like probably would be unusual. Everton & Watford satisfied the PL with the application palace haven’t assuming palace submitted an application.dsr wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:22 pmEverton had 15 fit outfield players (6 of whom Benitez didn't consider worth a place in the team, hence his claim of 9) when the first appeal for postponement was made. 5 had covid, 6 were injured, they have used 26 outfield players this season in the league. We have used 18 outfield players. Currently Barnes, Cornet and Stephens are injured that we know about, and possibly Roberts isn't fit yet. So we have 15 or 14. If we get one more outfield injury, so our total squad excluding covid plus injuries is the same size as Everton's, can we get matches postponed?
Leeds have had it called off. Looking more and more likely next Sundays game will be off. No surprise.Sean Dyche's Watch wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:33 pmLeeds' game against Aston Villa, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed.
Providing there are no more cases then isn't the isolation period seven days (reduced from ten), so should be ok?thelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:44 pmLeeds have had it called off. Looking more and more likely next Sundays game will be off. No surprise.
The isolation period depends on vaccination status doesn’t it?
Leeds are 100% vaccinated, both on field and off field staff.thelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:48 pmThe isolation period depends on vaccination status doesn’t it?
I am not optimistic. If Leeds don’t want to play the game they will make sure they get the required number of injuries.
Every chance the Leeds game will be off alas, given they've just had their game against Villa called off.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 12:19 pmWe don't. There could be a lot of cases at Man U, Leeds or Burnley yet that force a postponement.
Not surprised, Leeds against Arsenal were down to the bare bones without a single first teamer on the subs bench.Sean Dyche's Watch wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 1:33 pmLeeds' game against Aston Villa, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed.
Palace officially asked for it to be postponed, nothing to do with twitterJakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 2:44 pmBecause people on twitter said so & that’s what’s true & that’s we need to believe![]()
But all I asked was why did they want it called off if they've just had to make one change.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 2:52 pmIf you look at the OP that’s where the news first broke! People on twitter were jumping the gun & prematurely claiming the match was off before the PL had even made any decision.
Because that’s what some people do, vieras got it so everybody associated with CPFC must have it, with some people you can have a bowl of cereal for breakfast & before you know it you’ve had a 4 course meal. Did palace even officially ask for the game to be called off I’m not sure if you can post something contrary to that fair dos.

So if I read this right, CP applied for their trip to Spurs to be cancelled the day before, and the PL though their application was too late, yet Burnley's games with Villa and Watford were pulled about 2 hours before KO, nice to see consistency is alive and well in the PL isn't it.
