Commentary team from hell
Man utd v wolves. I’ve talking about Martin Tyler and Jim Beglin. I’m poised over the mute button.

Don’t know what he’s like but he’s got to be more concise than the pair named above.

The gangsta…. Big Clint. Truly, truly awful.
Tyler I can live with, Beglin not so much.

As long as they are male
Not sexist in the slightest but female commentary is the mute for me

Re: Commentary team from hell
Agree 100%.
Honestly some of the shite he comes out with. It’s like a 4 year old commenting on a game, but with a voice that makes him seem like he’s trying to say something really insightful. Infuriating commentary. Spot the bloody obvious but with an annoying voice.

Exactly. And he tells you it a good few seconds after you thought it yourself.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 6:18 pmHe doesn't tell you anything you can't see and work out for yourself

Meat and drink. Hate that

Re: Commentary team from hell
Garth crooks…. Utterly bizarre.
Not only does he sound like he’s not commentating on the game being played, I don’t even think he’s commentating about football in general!!!
Fortunately, rarely on….
Also, Roy Keane. Look at me brooding here in the corner showing everyone how mean and tough I am. Absolute two-hat.

Re: Commentary team from hell
Peter Drury is a commentator who seems more interested in getting his pre-written cliches in during a game.
There’s also an ex rovers player we get a lot. Can’t remember his name. He’s bloody clueless.
But the worst of all. Jonathan Pearce.

Re: Commentary team from hell
There should be a rule where you can’t commentate on any of your previous teams. We’ve had Beglin for Liverpool and Leeds. Rob Green for Leeds and Norwich. Just why? They can’t remain impartial.
I feel that finally George Boyd might get a chance at network stuff and redress the balance.

Jim Proudfoot reads out a pre-prepared tome for his introductory sentence that lasts into about the 5th minute.

All coverage insists on panning to managers, directors and any c list persons that they spot.
Often big chunks are missed while we are subjected to this nonsense

Jamie Redknapp, Tony Gale, Tim Sherwood, Paul Merson, Chris Sutton Clinton Morrison all have me reaching for the off button, they all talk as though they are the greatest player who ever lived and just talk absolute cobblers

How Crooks has a job “commenting” on football is baffling.bobinho wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 6:46 amGarth crooks…. Utterly bizarre.

His team of the weeks are laughable, simply picking the “11 best” and playing a bizarre formation - I’m surprised he actually puts a keeper in there

Re: Commentary team from hell
At every opportunity he selects players that have scored, whatever their position. He has no interest in whether a defender has defended well just score and your in. Possibly picks his X1 by looking at the results and scorers page.
The ex- Rovers player mentioned higher up is Tony Gale. To be fair he always speaks very complimentary on us but as he generally gets our London games we tend to lose. He’s a jinx.
