To Sir with Love is one of my favourite all time films.
He was a beacon to the future, to Sir With Love, Heat of the Night and Guess Who’s Coming to dinner all broke established racial taboos and all are incredible films. Time capsules of a (happily) fading past.
RIP Mr S Poitier, you more than did you bit.

Remember going to the Grand at Nelson to watch To Sir with Love because Lulu was in it. Then seeing the defiant ones and the heat of the night in TV. Terrific talent. RIP Mr Poitier

Brilliant actor and activist. My mum used to have a bit of a crush on him. RIP.
To Sir With Love I always thought was Lulu’s best song (low bar to be honest).
