A view from 2 neutrals

My son and I took two of his friends yesterday, one a Darlington fan and the other a Man Utd fan, albeit one who is from M/c
Their views [ I know theyre not anything new but at least they have no baggage ] are below
It was a poor " Championship" game
Burnley have no exciting players - crosses from the byline were v few
It would be a real issue if Burnley started badly in the Championship in August
They cant be as bad in the Prem games or they would be destroyed on a regular basis

The match report in the Mail on Sunday is scathing.

No mcneil
No cornet
No excitement
Thats as simple as it is
McNeil looks disinterested. Hed do well in a better side
Cornet gives his all but is new
Aside from that the rest play like a sunday league team

Whilst there is no doubt the performance was woeful and the players let themselves down, we badly missed any left sided attacking players i.e no Cornet, Mcneil, JBG and Taylor who has shown he can get to the line.
It badly limited our attacking threat, so difficult to come to any firm conclusions as some of the left sided players would ordinarily be available.

The starting line up had Nine players who are out of contract in the summer
Having said that all 11 were absolutely terrible. Times like yesterday that I wished I hadn't bothered to show up just like our team didn't
Need a massive effort after this in our next two home games, or it's the Championship for sure. UTC

Not quite sure where you got the nine from.
Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Stephens, Lennon & Rodriguez which is six.
The other five - Pope, Lowton, Brownhill, Westwood & Wood are not out of contract this summer.

You'll get a few bites, just be patient.

And it's quite an indictment on our CBs that all the other pit a decent shift in yesterday

Why doesnt JBG do it?
Or mcneil
Cut inside or go back. No running at em

JBG, I assume due to lack of pace.
McNeil is a mystery. Never really been as good since he stopped running directly at teams, trying to play through the middle and certainly when playing on the right.

Doesnt come across confident enough JBG
Thats all we are missing. Taking em on and whipping a ball in
