Good get this one called off and Tuesdays rather play these 2 games with Cornet back.
About time we joined in with the farce of getting games called of due to injuries when it suits you best

When we play them, they will have Vardy and Evans back from injury and their 4 AFCON players back...

Didn’t notice it looks like it was us that requested it.
Information about the postponement of our game on Saturday
Burnley Football Club can confirm that our Premier League fixture at home to Leicester City on Saturday 15th January has been postponed.
The Club submitted a postponement application which was approved by the Premier League Board due to a number of injuries and Covid-19 cases within the first team squad.
The Premier League fixture between Burnley and Leicester City at Turf Moor will now be rearranged for a future date, with all previously purchased tickets for the game to remain valid.
The Club sends their apologies to both sets of supporters for the inconvenience this may have caused and a new date for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.

Really pleased about this. It gives us a chance to refresh the squad, get new signings in, and hopefully have Cornet back by the time we play the rearranged game. Might not be a bad idea to postpone the Watford game as well, for the same reasons.

If the PCR tests came through this morning, then surely this means the game v Watford will be postponed as well given there is a 5 day isolation period to be observed.
Day 6 will be Wednesday.

Is there any truth that Sean Dyche invited all the squad over to his place on Tuesday night to tell them all about Chris Wood's transfer to Newcastle?

TBH sickening as it is it gives us a chance to get some players in and back. We are down to our bare bones at the moment but at least we have given adequate notice.

I've been scathing about other teams doing the dirty on us and playing the Covid card (imo) when they are troubled by injuries and other absences and I actually believe we've joined in because we're extremely thin on the ground up front with Wood departing at short notice. It actually COULD benefit us in the long run, but I still think it's not right and has ****** me off, especially because I've got 2 people coming back from university tomorrow especially for the game and had got them both tickets. That's on top of getting 2 tickets for Villa away only to find the game off whilst in the pub in Birmingham. It's become ludicrous and like others, I'm getting to the stage where I couldn't care less what happens over this season.

I know this cannot be helped but this is now the third game I had tickets for, and may need to sort refunds if I cannot do the rescheduled dates. My two sons who live in the south already had train tickets for tomorrow to get to my house and then travel by car with me. This will have a huge impact on our fans being prepared to book travel and tickets in advance. As I say this cannot be helped but is really screwing in particular fans with long journeys who have made plans to attend

Nope I think it stinks too. We could play this game.
The game is there to be played - we all put the afternoon aside to go to the match. This league/sport is a cynical joke.

I can’t decide whether this is good news or bad news. I am just getting totally deflated about this season, everything seems to be going against us so expect this to be more grief.

If it's us pulling this.
Totally understand.
We need to get a striker in.
------------------
Leicester had a game pulled by including AfCon players (wrong by me) bending rules.
-------------
What annoys me is when games actually get replayed - new signing, those known injured would be unavailable for those dates, those Banned for bookings, long term injuries even - WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.
Leicester have played this card so have Spurs, Everton and I guess others also - we have not (Yet) but maybe should have? Glad we Did Not.
It is not right. It Stinks.
It's not Fair
Making up the games.
Smaller squads will inevitably be crap kick off times 3 times a week.
Fans last on the considerations as per.
Fixtures squeezed around Euro Games Blah Blah Blah Money.
----
But We Do Need A Striker

Could we? Who is available?
It's probably not a bad time to play Leicester as they'll have their players back for the rearranged game, so I doubt it's been a decision taken lightly.
And even if it was a bit dodgy, it's about time we played the system like everyone else has instead of this no excuses garbage.

Well if it is we are stuffed, with so many ooc on 30 June. Suspect we would be forced to extend some contracts that otherwise would not have been.

..and that back fired two seasons ago, in exactly the same situation, when all the 6 OOC players refused to extend for the short period (including Lennon who is now back).I suspect there is no way they will commit to an additional short period with us if it means jeopardising a move/contract with another club by getting injured. Plus they will feel unwanted

Well yeah we don't know either way but you admit yourself "it's about time we played the system". As if we didn't know whether we had a team to play on Thursday. The club advertised on Thursday for people to buy tickets (
https://twitter.com/BurnleyOfficial/sta ... 9455115265).
So people make plans to go to the match, buy tickets and the day before wham it's postponed. It's just not good enough. I don't care about playing the system - I want to see a football match that I've paid for.

It’s annoying that clubs are getting away with it but there’s no doubt that we benefit from this. One less game that Cornet misses and one less game a new striker misses. Also, it saves me from being miserable on a weekend!

There are just two positives I can see and one is a selfish one because I wouldn't have been able to go, the other being that at least it's not on the day. I sincerely hope our application was a necessary one and not playing the system.

So do I. Pcr results would have come in this morning so they wouldn't have known for sure yesterday.
At least its the day before and not a couple of hours before like has happened to us 3 times in recent weeks. I don't care about playing the system either but I'm also not too bothered if we have because everyone else has and we've gained nothing by being worthy.

Well i naturally have sympathy for those who planned to attend tomorrow, a call off is probably good for us in our present state.
And assuming the Watford game also falls by the wayside, this allows us a chance to get 2-3 in the building, which we need to take.

Probably on my own but hate that attitude ‘everyone else does it so why shouldn’t we’
Might as well start diving as well and surrounding the referee.
Probably just me and to be fair why might not be guilty anyway

I genuinely think playing the game might have been the best for us, as Leicester have a good few missing too, so I suspect this was a necessity.
