That’s going to be one crowded fixture list from February.

If Arsenal is postponed does that mean Cornet wont have missed a single game?

Good news in some ways, but how the hell are we going to get all the games in? It's gonna be busy

It's all going so well this season.

We might have finished the season this time next year.

I don't think it's good news to be honest given the fixture backlog it's leaving us with. We are going to find ourselves in a real mess later in the season trying to fit them in.

missed FA cup 3rd round

Think he’ll also miss Man Utd at home!
(If they proceed in Africa tournament)

Depends how long IC remain in the AFCON, but the 2 scheduled games following Arsenal are Utd & Liverpool, so even with Cornet we'd have struggled to get anything from those fixtures.

Doesn't get much easier though after that run, but that's life in the PL I guess.

From a very selfish personal point of view, I'm disappointed. Couldn't go to the cup tie v Huddersfield last week and I've had to miss Leicester had it gone ahead for the same reason. I've finally been passed fit.

Afcon final Feb 6th. ManU on the 8th. IC currently top of their group but not guaranteed to go through. Could well only miss the Arsenal match.

This season has been a nightmare in more ways than one. The fixture backlog could bite us big time. At least Cornet will be back for them along with some new signings.

Shambles. This is becoming a joke across the whole league. Can take a 16 man squad to the Under 23s game tonight but they couldn’t possibly have featured tomorrow? And that’s not just with Burnley you can apply it to every club that has postponed games lately.

Not if we sign some players of a good enough quality

If we don’t then yes we’re just going to add to our problems by having to put out the same team every 3 or 4 days

I assume it's a reference to the OOC players, and this could be a potential issue if the season is extended, and given the sheer amount of games that could well happen again.

This is only good news if we go out and get targets quickly. Get some new blood in with players back with Cornet and we have a good shot of getting out of trouble..
We need to be aggressive and get deals done this week ready for a packed schedule that if we start getting positives results could help us get some momentum.
We have a lifeline, if we don't use it then we deserve to go down.

That’s not my point, they’re contracted players. It should be same for every club in the league. It’s funny how they can all pick squads for the FA Cup regardless of ‘COVID and injury issues’ when they’re not forced to.

Exactly the same for me - and I still tested positive end of last week. Finally got a negative test this morning so another tomorrow and I'd have been OK tomorrow.

Supporters will stick up for Burnley doing this - but it’s the same supporters that were destroying Watford, Villa and Everton for doing the same thing and demanding points deductions etc it’s so hypocritical and wrong how things are in this league at the moment.

It has to be good news given that we are depleted, Maxwell is away, and our main striker has done one.

I agree regarding the number of games to catch up on but if we did play tomorrow with our severely depleted squad and got beat, then we wouldn't need to worry so much about the rest of the season, as we'd have more than one foot in the Championship.

The season can’t be extended though…it has to finish by May 22nd.

The World Cup is the problem; it’s placement in Nov/Dec 2022 means that everything has to work around that…the national leagues, this summer’s international tournaments, the necessary rest periods before/after etc etc.

I can see litigation ahead….

I’m not proud of us doing this. But I have to say if Burnley are now playing games… they were gamesman turned poacher for very good reason. We certainly weren’t getting any respect.

It's irrelevant whether or not our supporters stick up for the postponement (s). All the Club is doing is following the rules, as other clubs have done.

Probably come back to haunt us with our squad age and the pure amount of games we’ll need to cram in.

We’ll end up having the u23s heavily involved again anyway..

It’s a relief that it’s off if we are so short of players but overall this is becoming a nightmare for us. Assuming we go ahead at Arsenal we will still have twenty games to play from the beginning of Feb.

Inevitable I suppose given our lack of players and it buys us a little time
to get players fit and hopefully get one or two in.
I just hope we avoid any injuries in the run in as we're going to need
all hands on deck so to speak.

Can't see us getting too many points from our next 3 games if they all go ahead
so our season and fight to stay up will begin after the Liverpool match.
