It's time for Dyche to drop this 442 that's not working, with the limited player's we have up front I personally think it's time to go 4231if the game goes ahead
My team with the player's we have
..................Pope
Lowton Collins Mee Taylor
......Roberts ....Tarkowski
Lennon....McNeil....Gudmundsson
..............Rodriguez
Or
..................Pope
Lowton Collins Mee Taylor
......Roberts ....Pieters
Lennon....McNeil....Gudmundsson

Square pegs in round holes won’t work. Plus has roberts ever played in cm? Or is this the same as when everyone obsessed about Taylor being a cb because he played there in a friendly once?

I thought Taylor was having a scan? Doubt he’ll be available for this game if that’s the case..

If you think Roberts in that formation is cm then that goes to show you know nothing about football
On the subject of Square pegs in round holes, have you ever noticed how Dyche plays our wingers

Game will probably be off.
If not we'll be playing a 4 4 0 formation. We've barely any players.

Roberts holding mid? Have I honestly read that correctly?

I agree with 4-2-3-1. Assuming all fit, I’d go for:
Pope
Lowton Tarkowski Mee Taylor
Brownhill Westwood
JBG Lennon McNeil
JRod
Try and keep it tight. Work on fitness. Robert’s on last 20 for some crosses/throws to snatch it.

I know let's stick to the tried and tested 442 with Tarkowski who doesn't look interested and a midfield that can't protect the defence and wingers on the wrong sides because that's worked in the last 21 game's.......oh hang on, sir Dyche has kept us up for a few season's let him still dine out on that reputation because it clearly works still

Assuming everyone fit then definitely time for a new approach. Always like the Aussies cricket team approach, pick your best 11 players.
Now of course that doesn’t necessarily translate well to soccer but I’d certainly be looking to get Collins and Roberts playing. So something a little more dynamic with the opportunity for a more fluid formation with the ability to counter
Pope
Lawton. Collins. Mee. Taylor
Tarkowski
Roberts. Westwood
Brownhill
McNeil
Rodriguez
Feel we need to get Brownhill into scoring situations, his record at City was pretty good.
It might be argued it’s an over defensive system 6 defenders but I think it might offer us some fluidity giving the full backs more chance to overlap and more importantly give us a real presence at set pieces. Obviously the danger is players not adapting and taking each other’s space but for me other than Vydra that’s our best 11. Would like to see Helm and Mancini on the bench.

Swap Tarkowski for Collins and McNeil for one of the wingers and it's worth trying instead of 442 that's clearly not

Roberts in the past with other clubs has played
Right back
Central Defensive midfield (the role I picked)
Right wing
Left back

I think you’re missing my point. Does Roberts even playing holding mid? Why would you try to squeeze him in? Surely you’d go for someone who actually plays in that position?

I'd squeeze him in to cover Lowton if Lowton down the wing, I'd squeeze him him for the massive long throws he can put into the box and I'd squeeze him in to link up with Lennon and we've not seen what he can do, it can be no worse that what is happening on the pitch at the moment

Dyche will play if fit 442
Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor

With the available players likely fit I’d play 442

Lowton. Tarks…… Mee… .Pieters
Roberts Collins Brownhill Taylor
Jay Rod McNeil
I’d like to play 433
Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Pieters
Roberts Collins Taylor
Vydra Jay Rod Cornet

Given the form I’d probably change JBG for Lennon too, pretty sure I read somewhere that he’s injured too , might be wrong though

Roberts Tarky Mee Taylor
Brownhill Stephens Westwood McNeil
Lennon Jay
Harsh on Lowton but I feel we need a refresh. Stephens has looked a better option than Cork and JBG has been awful.

I was thinking an inverted Christmas tree but then I thought Christmas is gone, maybe a flat pancake at the back with hot x buns in front then I realised why I am not in charge of formations so 4 4 2 it is

We need to know who is available before picking a formation.
1-10 might not be a bad idea.

Assuming everyone accept Barnes and Vyds can start.
Pope
Collins Tarks Mee
Lowton Westwood Brownhill Taylor
Lennon Jay Dwight
Got to get some sort of control in cm and probably get our goals via set piece headers.

I’m not the one advocating for a right back to play in cm/cdm (whichever way you want to interpret it) and a centre back in cm/cdm. You clearly didn’t see how tarks did in that position when Keane was here in his cameos in that role, or going further back how we put square pegs in round holes in the 2010 season which didn’t work....again.
On the subject of how Dyche plays our wingers, have we had any choice? He usually plays McNeil on the left - his position and JBG on the right, again his position. Occasionally he has swapped McNeil to the right which didn’t work because again, it’s a square peg in a round hole.
Yet I know nothing about football

According to dyche's press conference, transfers - : Nothing to report, injuries/covid - : couple back from each, 16 training, Taylor touch and go.
Taylor out for the season then ???

Formation for Arsenal...Employ Mick & Paddy at the back with a ton of sand, 10 bags of cement and oh around 200 block to brick up the goal
Then repeat for the second half.

Nobody who has ever been "touch and go" in Dyche's terms has actually played! So no Taylor.
Without knowing who is available and who isn't and it all being so fluid right now, this thread is completely impossible. I would however like to see Roberts given a go if he's fit and if Jay is our only fit striker then get Mellon or McGlynn on the bench.

Well Arsenal are missing two midfielders so we might see a 4-5-1 or we could really fox them and play, like City, with no striker in a flexible 4-6
