With no game for the Clarets anybody going to a local non league game ?

Padiham are at home to Northwich Victoria, half price if you show your Burnley season ticket.

Always a great day up at the Arbories.

Up the Storks !

I’m going to hop on the train and go and watch AFC Telford United v Bradford PA in the National League North. Sampling a few cask beers before and after the game in the Pheasant public house in Wellington.
I suppose many of us here have bad memories of when Telford dumped us out of the FA Cup? I lived in Burnley at the time and that match was one of the low points in my 50+ years watching the clarets. Looking forward to tomorrow though, hopefully watching some real football with decent robust tackling and no VAR.

Mace Goodridge has signed for Telford recently and has bagged three goals in the last two weeks. Had a torrid time with injuries, hope he can get back to full fitness.

He looks like he is in a bit of form Tony. Hopefully I see him hit the net at least once tomorrow.

Basingstoke Town v Staines Town for me 15.00, Saturday - Isthmian South Central League (tier 7 of the pyramid).
I've lived in Basingstoke over 20 years and before this season only seen them play 3/4 times but already been on 5/6 this season as disenchantment with top flight football has set in.

Home gates this year have usually been 5-600 but noticeably higher when there's no top leagues footy- I'd expect 800-900. Basingstoke has a bigger population than Burnley nowadays but many lads follow London teams (the ones their overspill families previously followed when in London) + Southampton/ Pompey/ Reading (though the latter much reduced these last few years ;) ).

I can book (£7 for oldies) online, get the e-ticket on my phone and take a nice 2-2.5k walk to the ground from c. 2.20, back home with a brew at 5.30.

Be sure to wrap up mate gets cold and windy up there especially on a day like this there’s not much cover.

It.was a bit nippy up at The Arbories this afternoon. My Benny and Hot at half time was tepid within seconds. Padihams 2nd goal was an excellent move.

Another healthy crowd up the Abories a great 3-1 win and I'm just about getting the feeling back in my feet from the cold. Was really looking forward to going up against Macclesfield next week but with the Watford game being of such importance I'm taking my Grandson on the Turf which will be the biggest game in his short time as a supporter.Although I am contemplating doing the double

Just got home after a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at Telford United where Mace Goodridge scored a nice goal. Several cask ales consumed also. Will do this again when Burnley aren’t playing on the same day.
