FAO everyone on the transfer thread

Post by Hedontplayforyou » Mon Jan 31, 2022 10:21 pm

It’s over, no point whining about it and feeling sorry for ourselves . Time to get behind the boys and bring some atmosphere back to the Turf.

If we do everything we can to support the boys I’m sure they’ll give everything back to fight for survival !

Looking forward to seeing Weghorst and Cornet up top together , let’s make some noise and roar the boys on!

Come on Burnley UTC!!

What’s the point? The club can’t be arsed so why should the fans?

We are almost certain to be playing hoofball in the championship next season

We aren't whining over this transfer window, we're whining over that last 8, Weghorst and Cornet can score 20 goals each until the end of the season but we will not finish above Leeds, Brentford Everton or Newcastle, it's 100% relegation this season sorry but that's just fact, we've had a fantastic run in the top flight and even a little bit of European football and I thank the club for those amazing memories, I hope it's not long before we are back.

I think people are perfectly entitled to be disappointed about another poor transfer window and to air that frustration on a forum. They're also entitled to turn up on Saturday and get behind the team. Those things aren't mutually exclusive.

We wouldn’t be in the top division in England and the so called “best league in the world” if the club couldn’t be assed!

We are in a predicament , it happens to many clubs, but when the fans get on the players and managers back it only goes one way so let’s do the opposite.

I’ve watched some turgid stuff over the years but always got behind my team. I’ll be doing the same on Saturday and throughout the season . We are part of the club , players , managers and owners will come and go, but us fans will be here for the duration.

Most fans dream of being able to be a Jay Rod and play for their boyhood team and give it their all, but for us mere mortals all we can do is back then to the hills and support them till the end !!

Goodnight

Just because you say you're disappointed with the transfer window doesn't mean you aren't behind the club

That's spot on. I'm beyond disappointed with then window but it's closed now (well, in 20 minutes) and we have to get on with things.

Funny isn't it?
We are constantly told that the team is only a gnat's chuff the wrong side of "the margins", we sign what could well be an improvement at CF,
yet it's seen as not enough for so many fans.

I think relegation is in the minds of most Burnley fans but with half a season to go and so many home games left there is no chance that there will be a lack of support on the Turf.
Even if the worse happens that support will remain strong

if its been poor, then who is responsible ? I might be naive, but surely its serves no purpose for anyone involved in this window to do less than their utmost. If players wont come, or clubs wont accept offers , that's hardly Burnleys fault.

Good post. We tried but they wouldn’t come. Ramsey. Deli Alli. Orsic. That wasn’t lack of ambition it was players simply not fancying coming to the club. In fact when you look at some names we may have been over ambitious and might have been better spending time trying to get lesser names. Not a great window no but we have got a genuine top class striker (probably far better than Wood) and we have Cornet back from Afcon. And we still have Tarks and Mee, two players many were saying would be gone. At the moment we have the games in hand to pull clear so it’s down to the lads and the fans now. It’s dig deep time so put on the tin hats and just enjoy the ride and you just never know. The defeatists can have their opinion, it’s a free country, but writing off a team less than half way through the season who are not even statistically the worst performers in the division is slightly premature I believe.

I'm glad i decided to play golf today...missed an awful lot of moaning and groaning.

I think the Weghorst signing could be the start of our revival.....Woody has missed some sitters this season & with Cornet back, i'm looking forward to some great wins .

I'm ****** off about yet another abject transfer window but I'd give anything to be at all the games like I used to do. If you are able to go then get behind the lads as much as possible, nothing is impossible in sport.

Taking pure facts at face value, a side who are struggling to score big time have just replaced a 25m striker with a 14?m striker and nothing else.

For some reason I am still optomistic

We need

6 wins 7 draws 5 loses

7 wins 4 draws 7 loses

Or 8 wins and 1 draw 9 loses just to reach 36 points

Where do you see these coming from

For me the most possible is the middle option but we need to turn draws into wins, even then I don't think 36 points will be enough because I can see Newcastle getting more

Even when you consider our games in hand you think our relegation rivals will finish above us?
I think you underestimate us. No other team in the league has the experience and fight we do. Both from players and manager.

Newcastle are not guaranteed to do well because they've made so many signings.
Watford have Hodgeson but a team devoid of work rate and determination.
Brentford will probably fade even more.
Crystal Palace also lack fight.
Norwich lack quality and don't have much experience either.
Everton have way more pressure than anyone else and a team full of players who have never learned the word relegation.

When it comes to getting the job done we may not have the best ability but we know what's needed and have more experience than the others.

We haven't even finished half of our season yet. I wouldn't write us off.

I'm disappointed like everyone else but I still think we have the balls needed when the **** really hits the fan.

Meanwhile back in the real world we have won 1 game last year.. 1.. and have stood still yet again in another transfer window.

We couldn’t beat Norwich at home when they were out of sorts, now they have really stepped on it. We will do well not to finish rock bottom.

No chance we are staying up this season. I’ll take a bet with you now we are down.

If you think it’s a small minority maybe go on social media and see the melt down.

If we lose on Saturday things will turn toxic pretty quick after that’s window

Let’s be honest anything other than a win against Watford and the club will deserve every bit of poison flung at it.

It’s not beyond the realms of possibility to beat

Watford x 2
Everton at home
Norwich and Brentford away
Leaving battering nervous Newcastle at home on the last day.

Easy

The big concern is the summer. Plenty out of contract and if reports are to be believed we don't have a pot to p1$$ in to replace them. Pope and Cornet will be our only valuable assets that will no doubt be eager to play in the Premier league. This could be a long bumpy ride back to where we belong - league 1

Completely agree. Luckily the real world is quite different to twitter. Personally I think most Burnley fans, whilst being incredibly disappointed about the transfer window will be right behind the side from now until the season ends. I'll ignore the constant negativity from the 4 or 5 usual suspects on here. Nothing wrong with opposing views, but the constant drip drip negativity is simply draining.

Some people just won’t bother turning up this is another reason I’m jacked off & others are bound to be, it’ll just get to the stage where some people will completely lose interest knowing there are getting used as a meal ticket.

We have 20 games left. From those 20 games we probably need what, 24-25 points. So 1.25 points per game.

6 wins, 7 draws and 7 defeats?
7 wins, 4 draws, 9 defeats?

Okay, we’ve won 1 so far in 18, and are running at 0.61 points per game. Had we beaten Norwich, Brighton and Leeds, all games we should have won we’d now be on 18 points and 1 point per game. On track. If Wood’s goals at Leicester had counted we’d be running at 1.11 PPG. That’s only a few games and easily changed second half.

The other season when we finished 10th we weren’t fantastic, and gained 1.42 points per game. I don’t think it’ll take much more from us for us to get to 1 point per game, so to 1.25 is an odd inspired performance beyond what we’ve been giving so far.

Glass half full…until it’s not. I think Watford is crucial.

Here's what you could do, jakub.....stay on the concourse until the players have taken the knee then take your seat and for once, just once, give the lads and the club a chance.
I really can't understand your stance on racism but that's another story. More importantly this weekend, I can't understand how any fan doesn't relish watching the lads and our very own dutch T-Rex set about a pretty hopelessrelegation rival.

Everyone’s entitled to be disappointed, as I am myself , but the point of the thread is to realise that our team is our team and they need our absolute support until the end.

Let’s give them the push they need….win on Saturday and it starts to get interesting !

can i just say to all the moaning whining people, please don't go on the Turf Saturday and spread all your negativity. we don't need you. please stay at home. Probably best place for you.
If that was a dig at me or someone else then I'll tell you now it's not moaning it's be realistic, we might finish above Norwich and we might finish above Watford but no one else

The best case is Norwich and Watford or gone say leaving just one place left, do you really think this ageing team with justc one win can turn it around so much they can finish above Leeds, Brentford, Everton Newcastle or Palace

Also no-one tell me go support another team like Man City we don't need fans like you or stay away from the turf this Saturday, I've earned my right to an opinion whilst spending 10's of thousands of pounds over 45+ year's of watching Burnley in all four divisions, I'm being realistic about where Burnley will be at the end of this season after another pathetic transfer window and not strenthing when we finished higher up the league instead of trying to bring player's in when we are rock bottom of the league sticking to a 442 formation season after season and having just a plan A, the reality is no one wants to come it's a pity some on here still believe we will go on a miracle run and avoid the drop

Hardly a pity is it even if it is looking like blind faith............

I'd still rather hope for the best than give up now.

I haven’t said go and support Man City? Perhaps someone further up?

You’re spot on though. You have earned your right to be poisonous and spread negativity because you feel emotional about things. That doesn’t mean you have to use that right to make sure everyone agrees and helps in our demise. It’s about controlling emotions and channelling your thoughts.

That bit is a choice though, and it’s up to you.
