Amazed he wasn't removed after the result against Preston or within 5 minutes of full time of the game Saturday especially after their fans actions down at Millwall

I'm amazed he got the job in the first place.

2 months ago it looked like the top 3 were almost nailed on, but B'mouth and WBA have both fallen off a cliff. B'mouth look like they have come out the other end, but WBA continue to be awful. No surprise he has gone.

Complete madness. He took Barnsley to the play-offs last season, look where they are now

West Brom fans sick of the football they are serving up. Been getting toxic there. Interestingly the longest contract they’ve given to a manager in their modern era, sacked after 7 months.

Why would Andy Carroll want to to such an unstable club?

If Barnsley lose tonight then their Manager will be the next.
Can’t understand Championship clubs appointing second rate Managers from overseas who don’t know anything about English Football at that level

They have been in freefall since Ismael left - wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back there very soon

If I were West Brom I'd be making the lad at Blackpool an offer he couldn't refuse.

The previous manager set them up for this (1 win in 16) and the current manager has 1 win in 11.

He is CT, with what appears to be a fairly limited budget as well.

They got him from Liverpool where he was in charge of the u23s. At the time I thought it was a big gamble but he's certainly moved things on at a club that's still revelling at being Oyston free.

Yes he spent a fair time coaching the young lads at Liverpool, certainly one to watch for the future. A little more investment in the summer and I see Blackpool as a top six side.

Yes quite a few times. I was interested to see how he’d do at another club. He imposed some Dyche-like tactics at Barnsley and it took them from near the bottom of the division to near the top. Obviously West Brom wanted similar instant success.

Fast long balls from the defence to the front men, win the second balls. Often bypass midfield. Close down the opposition when they try to play out from the back. Fairly robust. Strong focus on set-pieces. Strong group ethic. That sort of stuff

Bruce loves managing West Midland clubs. Which ones would he have left if he got the job?
Walsall and Wolves?

It will mean he’s been at Birmingham, Villa & West Brom. Not many will have done that although Ron Saunders did some years ago.

I'd be interested to know out of the promotions from championship to premier league, how many managers have been from "over seas"?

It would be interesting to know how many championship clubs are owned by foreigners. It makes a big difference to who they appoint.
SD fell lucky getting the Burnley job, just as lucky as we were to get him.

All 3 promoted teams last season had foreign managers in their first managerial role in English football.

Now that would be a good appointment, he knows what it takes to get out of the Championship that's for sure, and despite a terrible run they should still be eyeing up a PO place.

He has generally. He might be a Geordie but the Newcastle fans were never going to accept him given he’d already managed down the road at Sunderland.

If I’ve counted correctly, I think this is his 11th club.

fair play to him after the Newcastle debacle and abuse he got - clearly doesn't need the money, so he either doesn't like spending time with his wife or loves football ! :D

Managing at Sunderland was never going to make him a favourite at Newcastle but my Newcastle supporting relatives have always referred to his time spent as a player with Manchester United as a more pertinent reason for him not being accepted at St. James' Park.

That's not why we never took to him.

He had the worst PL win percentage of any manager (who'd managed over 200 games). His critics at Villa, Sunderland, Hull, Wigan all said that they played without a coherent style. That the midfield was clueless, the defence was porous and the attack was toothless. All of those faults soon became apparent at St James' where he left with a 27.4% win percentage. He took us on long runs without wins and owed many of his points to either moments of individual magic (ASM), or calamity from the opposition (Pickford)

Didn't help that we went from Benitez whose pragmatic drilled-to-death football was doing a decent job and was a foundation for the future, to Steve Bruce who had no plan, who eschewed tactics, was prickly and thin-skinned with the media.

Had he been a good manager who had happened to have previously managed Sunderland, we wouldn't have cared.
